Now keep in mind this is my first build EVER and working with kanthal ever so yes it's not the best and I know the clips need to be cut ending up using nail clippers later on because the wire cutters I had were so blunt! I used 22g Kanthal and it came out to be .2ohms. Now my main problem is I cant center the coils as you can see and as I could see when I put the cotton in it was very off to one side.. any tips for centering them more?

That's a pretty wide coil. I think I counted 9 1/2 wraps. If you are set on having .2 ohms, total, you could do one of two things, or both. Use thinner wire, or make larger diameter coils. Both will require less number of wraps.
Then, you should learn to get your coils more centered by making bends in one or both legs.

Nic`d Up in Oklahoma!
This is how I do it, seen it on Rip Trippers, dont know how it would work for anyone else. Works for me.

Pull out some on the negative side so you have some slack, don`t worry that it puts the coil outside the well. Heat them up good, while they are cooling grab them with some bent pliers and pull them towards center. Once you have them centered redo the negative as needed and then make sure everything is tight or snug whichever way you see fit. DO NOT put the pliers on them until you have let go of the fire button, make sure you are being careful so as not to ground it while your firing, with practice this will become more natural to you and you`ll get it. You might want to watch dome videos to see how this all works in real time.

PS, if you don`t have enough negative lead there (I cant really see whats going on there), redo your coils so you have some extra on the neg side and try again. NO one has ever built their first coil perfectly, OK.

BOL, :?)

that's the trouble with that common 3-posts-in-a-line design of rda.

One thing people do, is mount the cois vertically.

Now with a two post wide design like the magma, manta or velocity:

everything is symmetrical and your coils line up automatically.

Using thinner wire wouldn't that require more wraps? From what I understand from RIP trippers the lower the gauge, the more thick the wire is, the more current or "cars" can flow through it, so wouldn't I want to go with 20g wire to go with less wraps to get it down to .2 ohms? Sorry if I have things backwards thats what I understood though, but might very well be wrong.

Okay so instead of using a 2mm screwdriver to wrap, I'll take it up to a 3mm wrap, how many wraps of that around do you think I'll need to get down to .2 ohms?

My question is: why are you set on .2 ohms? Just curious.

I'm set on .2-.3 ohms, because I like the flavor and clouds it produces at that ohm. The same reason everyone else likes a certain build or ohm level so you can run it at a certain wattage as well. I like to run mine at around 80-100 watts. I like a nice, hot vape, with clouds.

@3ebmike ur using 22g correct? on a 3mm bit? dual coil build would be 6 wraps per coil. There's a spot where it rounds up and down for you...
yup heres the last build I just did for the night.. .22 ohms! definitely was easy centering now they look better! so for my third build ever it could be worse I figure! thanks for the help. cheers.

Thicker wire has less resistance then thinner wire.

For example, for a given resistance, less wraps would be required for 24ga wire vs. 22ga wire, etc, etc...

Nice looking build on the last pic. :)

For some reason I had it in my head that the thinner the wire had less resistance. Like I mentioned before I got a little confused by RIP TRIPPER video analogy when he said something along the lines of "think of 28 ga kanthal as a 2 lane highway so less current can run through it and think of 22ga kanthal as a 6 line highway so more current can run through it"... the current being the cars. So I had assumed that you would get down to a lower Ohm with less wraps using the 22ga! but thats why I need to just keep learning, now I know. Thank you for the compliment it really means a lot having it be only my third build I appreciate it and it motivates me more to build!

Yes I figured out steam engine! Had it backwards, but its come in very good use now so thank you very much! This one does look a lot better, also I've learned 4 post rdas are a little bit easier to work with i've found.. at least when I'm doing a dual parallel coil.. the first time I was building on my Turbo by tobeco RDA which was 3 post, the second time around I was building on the mutation x V4 which was a 4 post.
