I'm personally not a fan of variable wattage, so I'll answer from a voltage mode perspective.
The MVP2 has amp limits and protection circuitry which will prevent a coil resistance of less than 1.2 ohms from firing. Therefore, keep your resistance above 1.2 ohm or higher.
I typically take the resistance, add the number two, and use that number as my voltage. For example, a 1.5 ohm coil plus "2" = 3.5 volts.
I recommend using 28 gauge Kanthal instead of 30 gauge. You'll be able to use more wraps for additional coil surface area, and the wire is less brittle and easier to work with. I also recommend using a single coil, micro coil; not dual
coils, for a regulated
mod.
