It came in at 1.78 ohms. I was shooting for 1.8 so I was ecstatic. Went the super simple route just a basic coil using a needle and 2mm ekowool but it worked first try. Was excited about that too.

The only thing is I think I might have wrapped the coil too tight. It's not saturating as quickly as my stock ones, but that's just a mental note for later.

I used 2mm ekowool, 30g kanthal, and 6 wraps... This was a Kanger head rebuild btw.

Anyway pretty amazing how clean a brand new wick is.

Even more amazing how simple and quick it is to build a coil.

Next time I want to try a microcoil...

Is it even possible to make a microcoil with ekowool / silica? I'm thinking it would be a pain right in the rump trying to thread that through a micro but maybe one of you knows a trick or two.

Anyway congrats to myself lol! I'm patting myself on the back!

:2cool:

I saw a vid on someone doing a micro with silica wick. They folded the wick over a piece of thread, and used the thread to pull the wick through the coil.

Nice. I was thinking something on that line, or maybe tape it to a pin so you can twist the braided silicon smaller and feed it through?
