Hello! I am so new! I never heard of electronic cigarettes before about a month and a half ago. And my first choice just from an ad has been a complete disaster. Anyone want to guess who has burned me!

I love the idea and I'd rather do this than buy anymore "analog" is that the term for regular, full of tar and taxes, smelly smokes?

But, now trying to get my money back on my bad deal, or get at least some replacement parts, and all my calls going to dead numbers and all my e-mails being sent back by MailerDaemon....I'm scared about which company to try that might be still in business long enough to even contact if I have a problem.

Any help out there?

Thanks guys for the good words! I am so tempted to go ahead and get something else to try...That whatever 501 sounds good. More money after bad? I have just a few days to see if I get the replacements on parts I ordered before sending off this plea to my credit card on what already was bad...(quit working and wouldn't re-charge) ... Sure would feel better if I had been able to reach the company in question to lodge a complaint. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear you were burned. A lot of people have been by the ones that advertise heavily - lotsa money on advertising and verry little in support and research.

Luckily I was not and started with a 510 like was mentioned. The hard part for me was finding a juice/niquid flavor I liked. I almost gave up trying to find one that "fit" me.

You might look at trying another as throwing "good money after bad", but you could also look at it as an "expensive lesson". Hopefully you will not give up and be sucessful in dropping the analogs.

Just do a lot of reading - especially DaBoom's guide to vaping and asking questions until you are comfortable. All of us here would rather answer 100 newbie questions than to see someone continue to use analogs.

One note: Dont expect these things to taste like real cigarettes, and they do have a "learning curve" to get used to the routine of charging and getting the juice loaded right. It will take some time to get adjusted (took me about a week of fiddling) but most everyone putting forth the effort usually "gets it".

Another note: If you feel after a brief success that you will continue vaping - do NOT waste money by stocking up on batteries and chargers like I did. Look at one of the "bigger" battery mods like the Chuck, Protoge, or Xhaler. They have bigger batters, "heat/burn" better, and the batteries last a lot longer.

I didn't mention the company. There was something in the FAQ for newbies about mentioning specific companies, though I see y'all recommending stuff and companies. I feel really stupid that I was caught by Smart Smoker. It is so obvious now...in hindsight, too good to be true. But I honestly had never even heard of e-cigs before that ad, and just went ahead with what I thought was a "free trial"....Now I am out the $9.95, plus another $99 and the unit or the charger one or the other isn't working. And I can't reach anyone at all anyway at all. And they are due to hit my card again for another $65. See why I am so timid about trying again?:(

unfortunately that company is known for that..there is a thread here about what suppliers to avoid..
There are a ton of great suppliers on here though...the 510 and the KR808D-1 the 2 most popular models..
I have both and have tried both..so far the Kr8 just isn't living up to the 510 for me..

my personal favorite as far as 510 suppliers is Nhaler, though cignot, and rocky mountain vapor have really good reputations for customer service and speedy shipping as well..

Thanks to Kent C for the link. I did order that special 510 offer. Can't wait to get it.

The remaining problem is what to do with the mini carts that shipped with the bad unit I got. There is no where on the documentation to say what model any of this all is. It is almost like the come ons given out on CNN, MSNBC and all were planted to head off further customers for this technology.

Excuse me, but what I have seen over the last year has made quite the conspiracy theorist of me. :-x

And I have paper to file with Visa regarding the rip-off. Hopefully I can get my money back.

You won't regret getting a Joye 510 (I have to be specific about the manufacturer now with the clones out).

As far as the mini carts - not sure what model that was - if you can't return, my motto is don't throw anything away ... yet. (possible ban, etc. that goes along with your conspiracy thing ;-) But at some point when you know what they are you may be able to sell them by themselves or part of a 'package' in the classified forum here. Seems like someone is always looking for something. lol But do what you can to get your money back now - you'll need it :) You have juice to buy, attys for the cache! You'll need mega batteries and a Bartleby mod soon enough. lol

Welcome again to the forum.

Hello, All. Down the road one more day waiting for my 510, Meanwhile I did get the replacement parts for the (very faulty) Smart Smoker unit. And because I immediately turned the whole lot over to my R&D department (HuggyBear...dear husband--engineer extrordinaire), he has jury rigged the defective--extremely tacky charger--and made my battery charge up. So I can use up the little carts ... while awaiting what I hope will be a better quality unit. Still, aside from badly made equipment, there remains the problem of no access to the seller. So, I am going ahead with my complaint to the card company. Perhaps they can prevent my card from being hit monthly for $65 for unacceptable product. Wish me luck.:)

:)Got my 510 today. I was impressed. After the intensely shoddy equipment from the vendor who burned me...And I sent off the claim form to the card company with attached letter and documentation....sales receipts, e-mail failure notices etc. I also mentioned to them that although I am a long time customer of the card and love it...I will not hesitate to cancel my account if we can't get this vendor to not be putting additional charges against it. I referred the bank to this forum and said just put Smart Smoker in the search and see how many others have been victims.
I really didn't pursue getting my money back...I just want them to not further charge my card. If they do an auto-ship, I will refuse it as well. And call the card company. I guess they give me a claim number? We'll see. Meanwhile, I have a couple hours left of initial charge time on the new battery...so cool....it actually screwed into place! Then I will try the new one out. Bet it will also taste better than this piece of junk I was tricked into. I'll bet right now I will be placing an order for carts tomorrow. Five came with, about three days worth.
Next, to learn to use refills....I'll have some questions for you all then.
Thanks to all for being there and being so supportive.
