"NR legs" = no-resistance wire on the ends of the coil resistance wire. Good for the Vivi Nova/T3/Evod style heads where the connection consists of 'pinching' the wire ends between a silicone gasket and center post/head body. If the wire ends are the same resistance as the coil wire, there is a risk of burning the silicone gasket. With wire ends with less resistance than the coil wire, burning of the gasket is greatly reduced.

Aha! That makes sense, even to me. I wonder if those eGo-C atties that Kent mentioned have NR legs.

Stupid Cartos. Stupid tanks too.

Time to write an "encyclopedia carto/tank/carto-tank"... and they are all similar in a few major categories/divisions. That's not to say they are all equal. But.... I give up trying to keep track of the whole thing, as if I even tried. I don't have the $$ to purchase one of everything that comes out just to vape it for fun.

And the more stuff that hits the market, the worse the "disinformation" gets. I'm sorely tempted to go back to dripping on standard atomizers circa 2010. The CE3's were OK, a little warm due to top coil, but so are many tanks. Can't stand filler. Vivi Nova is basically a DIY CE3.

Now I'm supposed to worry about ceramic wicks (and I'm interested). Sigh. I don't know how you guys keep up with it...let alone the newbies.

I hear ya. Once in awhile I venture into new things when I feel the urge (and I've found things I like that way) but for the most part, I've got a repertoire of 5 or 6 gizmos in various combinations that I stick to. They work for me and it becomes not just a money pit but a time sucker as well.

...BOGE F15 TANK CARTOMIZER 1 ML - $4.00 : VapeLite your source for Boge quality electronic cigarettes, Boge electronic cigarettes

Genuine Boge, 16 mm diameter--same as eGo, holds probably 2 ml altogether (1 ml in the carto, another 1 in the tank). 4 dollar tank??? And they sell pre-punched cartos.

Any thoughts? Never ordered from that site.
Didya get that?

Something don't sound right about the specs.

The F15 should be a 2.5ml tank.

I did, I did, but I've been too chicken to start playing with it. I need CES' help! She's out tank lady!

Yeah, I think it's a typo. The carto holds 1 ml and then there is room for at least another ml in the tank.

Really??? You could help me with that blasted tank, for starters! :p

I have been waiting...

oops- sorry...thought you were waiting for someone who knew something about that particular tank. I am intrigued by it, because i like boge cartos. for 4 bucks and a few cartos it looks like it's worth a try. What the resistance of the carto it comes with?

'K, so...i usually use tanks with dual coil cartos: two 3ohm coils ~ 1.5 ohm on a 3.7 battery. (My sweet spot is 1-5- 1.8 at 3.7-4.2V, with 100% PG).

The trick with tanks is to get the filler saturated (big surprise there right?) without leaking. Bottom line for me is that the single hole that any tank carto comes with is not enough. i know people use them right out of the box, but i have no idea how. The hole in the carto shown in the image looks bigger than the holes that come pre-punched in the dual coil tanks- but in my hands it still probably isn't enough.

I punch 4 holes ~equidistant around the carto, all at the same level . The first one goes where the pre-punched hole is. Then i rotate the carto, keeping the holes aligned with one another, punch the next, rotate and so on. The 4 holes allow the carto to remain saturated - the fact that the tank is sealed prevents leaking. Making the holes equidistant allows the filler to be saturated from all side, and prevents odd deformations of the carto that occur if the holes are punched in random places. (it's hard to get a deformed carto into the tank- which is why i started punching regularly spaced holes  ).

the happy carto goes into the bottom of the tank. Slide the carto to within a couple of mm of the top of the tank. Fill the tank from the top and slide the carto the rest of the way into the top hole. You should then add liquid to the carto too, at least for the first fill.

I also like using a saddle valve for punching holes. I've tried the punch that is made specifically for punching holes in metal cartos, and it doesn't hold the stoopid carto steady enough for me to get a hole in it ....sigh.

hope that helps Kat..YMMV. From what i've gathered you may like a cooler vape than i do. I like the vapor nice and warm, but not burning or anything.

count your blessing then, ces and neo! ;)

but a few of us are still searching for something that'll work completely! :D

I'm sorry...I forget that sometimes ...I never had another cig from the first day I got my 901. I wish all those who are struggling complete success with ease.

All I managed to do was deform the carto with that thing. Waste of money. See what happens when you venture outside what works for you?

Right on. Neo! I figured that if it was idea worth pursuing, sooner or later somebody would manufacture either a tank without a carto inside or a sealed tank with a prepunched carto inside for 4 bucks. And guess what--I was right, on both accounts! :D

My carto tank looks foolproof, fully assembled with a laser prepunched carto inside, and it cost me 4 bucks. I have no more excuses. Gotta try it and see if it's any better than my Kanger clearos.

It helps a lot. I still have to figure out if I need a slap yo mama and a saddle valve and what the heck that flange on the bottom of some cartos does, but with my setup, I'm good to go. I have several boxes of Boge and SmokTech cartos, but most of them have stickers on them. What did we do in the past to get rid of those stickers to get the ss look? Hair dryer and lighter fluid? ;)
