Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but it seems that since I've started vaping my style has changed. I used to be able to get MUCH longer out of a VK cart and now I'm killing them in an hour of "chain-vaping"... that doesn't seem right.

I've seen the posts that say Long and slow, but as far as I know that's what I'm doing..

any and all suggestions are appreciated, I just put in a big order and I'm going through it MUCH faster than I had anticipated.

2-3 carts per day is NOT right... not when I used to have a one pack-a-day habit.

Thanks

IMO the key to these carts is to never heat them up too much. I always have a couple of carts going at a time and rotate between them, never puffing on one cart for more than 2 or 3 times before switching to the other one.

if you treat it like a cigarette it should last you at least 6 hours. But if you sit there and vape on it constantly your going to run out of juice. And if you do that then you might want to start refilling carts with nobacco juice to save you from going through all your carts so fast. pick three of you favorite flav. carts and refill those with 8-12 drops before going to bed. and you'll be good to go the next day. I smoked 20 cigs a day....and a cart last me around 6 hours. but I vape like I use to smoke. 1 every hour or hour in a half. 10-12 puffs and that is it.

If its a refill cart that your burning up read through the forums on how to properly refill or pm me and I will help as I had the same problem. If its a prefill cart the only way I can see this happening is if your vapeing so constantly that your heating up the cart like crazy and burning it up. If your cart is getting hot to thr touch as you vape take a breather in between puffs and let it cool down your vapeing it to hot.

I had a similar problem initially, rotating and putting in a few drops every once in a while seemed to alleviate. I also find myself popping the cart in the freezer for a few minutes when I can tell it's starting to overheat, and while driving I discovered one of my AC vents makes a perfect holder and keeps it cool :D.

There's a post somewhere around here where they've dissected some of the cartomizers because of the 'burning' issue and it's obvious if they're not kept wet the filling will burn.

oh yea this is also a good point Vaping is not exactly like smoking. you got to slow down in between puffs with the cartomizers and regular atomizer type ecigs. Dont let the atomizer or cartomizer get to hot. If you start feeling it getting a little to warm slow down. And you will start to see a huge increase with the life of the cartomizer.;)

I agree with everyone that posted replies to your original post. Another thing to take into account is that the carts are all hand made. In other words, not all carts are created equal. From time to time, you'll get some good ones, great ones then bad ones.

IMO, you should not refill your carts more than 3 times. I have found that after the 3rd refill, it will start to burn and become hot while vaping.

All things being equal, these carts are marketed as "disposables", meaning one time use only. Nothing beats a brand new fresh out of the box cart.

I had the burning problem with refilled carts until I started refilling from the batt side only not taking off the mouth piece. I've exceeded 3 refills so far with no problems at all. Give it a shot with one of your carts just make sure you let it sit out over night 6+ hours to ensure a good soak and no fear of liquid dripping into your battery.

Been there, done that. Have you ever taken one of these carts apart? I found that the wire (atty) that heats up in the center of the cart is surrounded by a protective layer of some sort then the actual filler that holds the juice wrapped around that.

IMO, refilling the carts from the battery end will cause juice to enter into the area where the wire is located, bounce of the o-ring inside then into the top end (mouth piece end) of the fillers that hold the juice. What happens in time is that the residual juice still trapped along the sides of the wire can eventually make it's way down to the battery causing the battery to go bad after a while. All in all, the times when I did refill from the battery end did not make a difference with regards to the carts heating up. Refilling the way I've been doing for over a month or so now, I can say that my carts do last longer and are almost as good as new ones.

Yeah, somethingh sounds wrong, must be some bad ones, let me know, which ones, and I will replace, no charge. Do not use em, and burn em.

Not to worry. I now have the factory weighing after filling to make sure they are filled properly, but, still, ya get the wrong guy on the line, ya get the half ... fill. Most all are fine, but, some are like what you are describing. Best thing to do, is use more of em, and let me replace:thumbs:

Can anyone tell me how they recharge their pcc, the line is only a couple of inches long. Do you just dangle it from the usb port? I just got my vk today:rolleyes: Also, after you put battery into pcc how do you know if batt is charged or when pcc needs to be re-charged?:( Any help is appreciated:)

Hmmm I have taken one apart after I tasted the burnt taste to find out that in fact I did burn the filler and that was my first refill and at the time I did refill from the mouth piece end after popping the cap off. I suppose that put a bad taste in my mouth but possibly it was just a bad cart. I will take your advice and give it another shot!

I gave been putting 2-3 drops in the battery end to wet the material closest to the wire. This will ensure that the material closest to the wire is wet. (if it is dry it will burn). then I fill the rest from the mouth piece end dripping on the outside of the material and not in the center hole. Then put the rubber plug into the battery end and let it sit overnight battery side down. This is working the best for me.
I am getting a lot of refills on each cart.

Also I use the cap on the 30ml bottles push the O-Ring to the proper depth.

Guy's, remember, these are made to be disposable, you must also realize the savings over analog. That said, do NOT use if taste is burnt.

I will replace all bad carts:thumbs:I always have, and always will, to be honest, I have replaced very few, most are Fabulous:D

Yes I tossed that first cart out right away. Well I had not much of a choice after I pulled it apart but when I get a bunt taste like that again straight in the garbage it will go. I've been vapeing my refills until I get a ever so slight kinda burnt or more or less what I assume is a dry atomizer taste thats when I refill. BTW I posted my comments about my order I recieved today in my awaiting order stoke thread :)

It seems to be the Camel's and Hiltons (16mg) that I'm seeing it with, but admittedly, I'm using more of those.

i was under the impression that once you started to taste the burning not so fresh taste that the cart was about to be empty and needed refill.

As for recharging the PCC I have a very nice antec 1200 case and there is a little shelf directly above the usb port so its perfect.

I had that impression at first too, but ripped a few open immediately when I did get that taste and discovered that the wick part (Which is a different, thicker 'rope like' material than the filler in my carts) was blackened and a hole burnt through it. It's obviously polyester by the way that it burns/melts.

IMHO better to get it moist again before you get to that point by dropping 2-3 drops into the cart on a regular basis. Since making that change the only time I've gotten that taste is when I've been vaping too much and it overheats (and melts/burns it).

I also noticed when ripping those initial ones apart that the cart filler was not necessarily devoid of juice, but that it wasn't wicked away from the filler to the wick as fast as I was vaping.
