Sorry, I know this question probably comes up a lot. I have searched but I am not finding my answer.

So I have been getting a bad burn taste a lot recently. I switched to a brand new atomizer and it was fine for say the first 20 puffs but the burnt taste came right back.

Through searching I cam across direct dripping but also found that you aren't really supposed to direct drip an Ego as it is more of a method for cartomizers etc

But here is the interesting part and what I didn't find any information on . . . as I was reading this information, I was trying different techniques for blowing out the atomizer and dripping fluids. What I have found over the last day is that if I plug in the tank, its really burnt, but if I remove the tank and then run liquid down the side of the atomizer, I am getting a nice flavor with no burnt taste at all.

It appears to me that I am simply not getting a good enough wicking action out of the tank and the atomizer itself is performing properly. What can I do?

Oh and I did read something about pushing the wick down in that center piece. I tried pushing it in with a paperclip on the previous atomizer. Perhaps I pushed it too far or did something else improperly. The burnt taste did subside some but I seemed to need to wait a long time for the juice to wick in between puffs. I wasn't getting as much burnt taste but if I didn't wait between puffs, I'd get very little vapor at all. I still have this atomizer, but did switch to a brand new one for further testing as I wanted to eliminate me screwing something up on the wick as being the problem.

BTW, I am using low resistance atomizers if that makes a difference. Really looking forward to any suggestions from you guys. This thing used to work great but for some reason has been giving me burnt for the last week or two even across multiple atomizers

Sorry, not trying to ruffle any feathers. I read the new forum member thing and it said I had to post 5 times there which is a measure to ensure I am not a bot etc so that is what I did. In any other forum I belong to, they want you to search for your answer first and then make sure you post your question in the correct sub forum. It seems odd to ask a bunch of new members unfamiliar with ecigs a very specifc question about an EgoT issue especially if they are unfamiliar with that type of unit

There are folks here that try to pick a fight with everyone, there is an ignore feature for those people. I can't help with your question, I've never used an Ego anything, just thought I'd offer you that advice. Your adherence to forum rules is between you and the mods, it's not any random posters place to play like they're a mod.

Kent, great post, thanks

I had viewed some other videos on cleaning but these were far better. I popped my atomizer apart and it looks like I mangled the wick when I tried pushing it down a couple days ago. Did the rest to clean and dry burn the coil, looks good in there. I'll just pull the wick from one of my others after it dies and see if I can bring that one back to life.

The Kanger looks cool, wasn't aware of that product. Worth a couple bucks to see if they work out better. Thanks again

You're not getting the proper flow. You either need to thin your juice a little, or now and then, just pull the tank/cartridge up and re-seat it. This will allow air into the little tank, giving it a slight positive pressure for a bit, to let the juice move into the atomizer. A few times (or a dozen...) of re-seating it will widen the hole a bit and may cause more leakage, or may fix your problem.

Interesting, I will def give that a shot. Do you know whether the strength of the juice affects its thickness? This is what I have been smoking:

555 30ml Liquid

I started with 16mg and had little to no problems. I have since gotten 11mg and am trying to ween myself down to the lower doses. As I get closer to straight 11 with less 16 mixed in, I have run into more of these burnt taste problems. Does it have anything to do with what they use to dilute the mixture down to 11mg (making it thicker), or is it probably more coincidental in conjunction with an equipment problem?

Glad I could help... Vicki at cignot is the best! :) I think you'll appreciate the T3. They have interchangeable coils which makes them even less expensive. You have to match the ohms with your flavors. Lower ohms for strong flavors, higher ohms for the lighter ones.
