Burning the hard black part from a T2 coil.

I tried what this guy did (Proper way to torch the Silica Wick to restore it ... - YouTube) instead my wick became black... Is because i use a normal gas lighter? And if so what lighter should i use for this as well as oxidising SS mesh?

theres actually a pasar malam going on in the east.. can check it out there.. you can get it there theres lots of choices from small to big to gigantic to a standing torch also have.. it all depends on how deep is your pocket bro..

Any old hardware store will have it. Example, if you are staying in Bukit Timah area, go to the stretch of shops at Jalan Jurong Kechil. If you are staying in Woodlands, go to Marsiling Lane and look for the stretch of hardware shops there. Pretty much everywhere sells it, if you look hard enough.
