I don't have forum permissions to ask this in a new thread, but I drip, don't use carts and for some reason recently after freshly dripping 3 drops on my 810 atomizer on my vp2 I can get like 3 inhales before there is a completely gross burnt/hot type taste to the thing and I try dropping another drop on. I know it's not burning dry as there's gotta be a bunch in there i had a few drops leak out the bottom so I am not sure what is going on. Usually I don't have this problem but it's really confusing me. It's a fairly new atomizer (probably 4 days old if i had to guess).

It is also strange because the first draw is usually wimpy vapor, and then when it gets to the burnt taste it's really cranking the vapor. What causes this and how can I make it act normally lol?

I'm not a complete novice but I haven't really had this problem like this before now.

Blow real hard on the end that connects to the battery. Do it over a papertowel because you'll probably see a lot of liquid come out.
Just happened to me not too long ago and it came out with a brownish tint--think I flooded and then overheated the atty.8-o
A little of the taste lingered and I tried dripping to get it out but once it got the least bit low on juice, the taste would come back.
I cleaned it in some Crest mouthwash last night and it's drying now so hopefully when it's dry tomorrow the taste is gone.

JJ2 have had a similar prob and think I threw out some atties, if that fixes it let me know.

To OP -If you have some extra money you might want to consider another PV, you would probably get more satisfaction out of it, I have heard nothing but bad things about SE stuff. 510s can be gotten for 35$ per kit, which is pretty cheap. If you had a little more money and wanted complete ease of use, could try a kr808d-1 model(cartomizers), if you had lots of money could get a chuck/some other mod(lasts for days between battery swaps), and a 901 connection w/ cartomizer adapter, and be able to use either cartomizers or 901 atties. Although if you got a Chuck, it would save you from getting new batteries, and a PCC which would make up a lil of the money back, just thought I would include some ideas for you.

try blowing into the atty batt connection end, put your mouth over the end and puff into it three times, connect it to the battery and see if it will vape, then do it again and again, over and over until you get no vape at all (you just removed the prime!), then rinse with any of these, crest prohealth mouthwash, boiling water, vodka or everclear, blow it out from the batt end until it's dry, drip 4 drops, and see what you get....you might get lucky.

Burnt ... flavor. There's a learning curve with vaping and e-ciggs...no matter what your age read the threads here you'll be a pro in no time!

Best of luck... you've already gotten some good advice! I second (or third, whatever) the "510" and back up attys then go to the thread "How to Spend a Saturday" and read about the "Chuck"! I'll probably collect other mods too but I wish I'd gone straight to the "Chuck" right off the bat, would've saved alot of $$$...

Sattec, I tried the crest prohealth, and 15 minutes wasn't enough. I had an atty with a severe burnt taste, so I let it soak overnight. This seemed to get rid of the taste completely

ahh so it might be the primer? I usually have a couple minutes of "not inhaling just vaping till the new atty tastes ok" when I switch to a new atty, but I had been using this for days and it's just now tasting un-fantabulous. Could it still be the prime?

For me, sudden expeience of un-fantabulous taste (assuming not dry) is a stray fiber.

Euwwwwww I'm having the same prob on atty's I've been using for weeks. It's NOT the primer (which I blow out of the atty before using) and doesn't taste like burnt ... so much as burnt filter. M402 and same prob; as soon as it gets the least bit low on juice (with juice still visible under atty bridge, mind you) the taste comes back. It's now 2 different attys, too, on batts and pass-thru.

UGH, it's so bad it makes me wanna vomit. (and NO it's not the analog taste, I still smoke some and they are way better than this, actually smoking last night instead of vaping because of this. This really does make me feel ill.)

Was using carts, then soaked both attys in grain alcohol for an hour or so (long enough to remove the paint from them), blew out, left with tips in VG (batt side down) overnight, put one on this am, dripped, and yep, bad taste comes back within a few vapes. Am now resoaking in grain alcohol, nauseous, and kinda scared to keep using the 3rd atty, lest it happen with this one, too.

I'm having the same problem. Burnt taste that follows the atomizer. I've seen some people mention stray fibers so I checked out my atomizer and there are little fibers in there but they seem to be coming from deep inside, near the coil. Is it normal for there to be fibers there (part of the atomizer) or are they strays from a cartridge?

I am using a blu/volcano BTW. I just started filling my own carts with tastyvapor.us fluid, and I wasn't having this problem until refilling carts myself. the fluid I have a is a 50/50 blend of PG/VG. I mention this in case the consistency of the fluid is causing the atomizer to do this.

I'd edit my last post instead of double posting if I could, but I wanted to update with more information. After doing some research, I learned that the clear fibers in the atomizer are connect from the base of the bridge to the ends of the coil, keeping the coil well coated in fluid.

Knowing this, it is obvious that the taste I'm experiencing is smoke from those burning fibers. It seems that once they get to a certain point, removing that bad taste is very difficult. I was experimenting with dripping and refilling, so I may have overfilled the atomizer at some point. Would overfilling it cause it to overheat, perhaps due to poor airflow?
