Hi all,

I've been using my Ego-T for about 1.5 months now and haven't had this problem until now. Every drag tastes burnt today! I tried three different (not fresh, regular and LR) attys (that I also tried blowing out) and three different tanks with three different flavors and two different batteries and I still taste that nasty burnt business.

Is it that the Dud Buds have returned or been burned? Or is it possible that I had three attys die all at the same time on the same day? Or is there some other explanation altogether?

I plan on trying fresh atty and tank when I get home from work, but any advice is much appreciated.

Thx

It sounds like you prob burnt the wick bc they got too dry. Tobacco type juices can sometimes hide the burnt taste alittle, but fruit type juices normally pick up the burnt taste pretty easily. Sometimes you can clean it really well and get the burnt taste to go away, but it all depends on how bad its burnt. If it was burnt/singed bad, normally that nasty taste will never go away, no matter how many times you clean it.

I dont use the eGo tanks bc I think their god awful, but hopefully someone that does can give you some advice for them

Goodluck with it

Oh yeah, did a check and the stupid little hole didn't punch very well in the tank I have on right now...so TonyTT was spot on there. Probably the same story with the other tanks. Grrr. Luckily I'm vaping a strong dessert flavor, not noticing the burnt taste as much, but I may have killed three attys  I'll do some super cleanings, but luckily I have backups at home, just in case.

Someday I'll venture into another tank system, just trying to get my money's worth outta this ego. :)

Thanks y'all, I think I can make it a few more hours till I get home now :D

Have a mint and drinks some water! I flush mine with hot water multiple times, blow them out, add 2 or 3 drops to prime them, let them sit for a few minutes , add the tank, and am cautious on the first long pull vape not to inhale it. If its still there ever so mildly, it then dissipates quickly for me. I've heard of folks dry burning them too after a darker juice was used. Hope you get it sorted out.

EDIT: I thought you were talking atty's not carto's. Sorry for my confusion!

Please order some boge 3.0 standard resistance cartomizers....they're 6 for around 6 or 7 bucks...just in case..the "tank" system is super fickle (I had the 510-t)...I'm actually amazed you've made it this long...if it continues to work great!, but if not you don't want to be waiting 3-7 days for a new way to vape...make this incident your wake-up call.....that same burnt taste you got...I had to suck on that for 11 days, before my solution arrived...it almost broke me....

I have some boge cartos (LR tho)...I just am not a fan of them for some reason. I think it's the filling process isn't as easy and I love the tip of the ego tank. But those are at home in case of emergencies. I carry on me two extra tanks, a variety of juice and two extra attys, and still...

I can't hardly get through the end of the work day with this burnt taste! Good grief you poor thing 11 days!!!! That would break me. I'm carefully considering my next move....I think dual coil tank and drip tip. But I'm taking my time, trying to not make too many more mistakes with my purchases.

The Smoktech dual coil tanks work great, but the dual coil cartos are nothing special. Personally I thin dual coil cartos suck at lower voltages, especially on a 3.3-3.4V eGo. Their alittle better on a 3.7V PV, but still by no means great. I find dual coils only really shine when used in the 4-5V range.
I use a Smoktech 3.5ml tank on my E-power, but instead of using a dual coil, I use the Ressurectors in the tank. They are the same size as a dual coil carto so they fit perfectly in the tank, and personally I think they work a LOT better than any dual coil does. They give a great vape, and since their single coil, they dont drain your battery like a dual coil does.
I think the Smoktech 3.5ml tank is perfect for eGo/kGo/E-power sized PVs. The bigger tanks look funny and make the PV top-heavy, but the 3.5ml tank is perfect. Its about the same diameter as the battery tube so it looks nice and doesnt make the PV top-heavy. Even though the 3.5ml tank is the smaller one, it still lasts a long time. I fill it in the morning and Im easily good all day. I think its a perfect size bc it lasts a long time, but it still small enough to be portable. I carry my E-power with the 3.5ml tank on it everywhere I go very easily.
Heres what the Smoktech 3.5ml tank looks like on my E-Power: photo3.jpg
As you can see it doesnt make the PV a lot bigger so you can still carry it in your pocket, even with the tank on it.
CCV sells the tanks and also sells pre-punched Ressurectors for the Smoktech tanks that have the metal base on them like the DC carto that comes with the tank. You dont have to use a carto with the metal base, but they are nice bc they stop the tank from being able to slide down and possibly leak.
I think the Smoktech 3.5ml tank with a Ressurector in it is perfect for the E-Power, kGo, or eGo, and is def a good alternative to someone that is having/had issues with the PITA eGo tanks.
