Burnt my first head in my Aspire/Atlantis setup...

Haha, well I filled up my tank with juice and set it aside for about half the day... I figured this would have been plenty of saturation time but I was wrong! Took several draws from the tank and it tasted burnt as hell. I thought if I pulled out the coil and dripped into the filler material- cotton or whatever it is- and let it sit for a while longer it would fix the issue but it did not. After searching the issue on here and on youtube I prepped the spare head that came with it by soaking the filler through the scree, putting a couple drops of juice on each of the exposed circles of wick around the outside, and one or two drops directly down the center of the head where the wire is. I let it sit for a while, screwed it into the tank and filled the tank, put it all back together and set it aside for a few hours just to be sure...

Works like a charm now! The flavor is tremendously good and huge hits!!! Lovin it... With the head -coil- I burnt, is there any way to save it or do I just have to buy new ones???

Hi, drpkckmrphy and welcome to the forum!

I'm afraid that "once burnt always burnt" applies here. Unless you rebuild that coil and wick, you will either have to toss it or put it in your "spare parts" collection.

Burnt coil taste as far for my experience sometime you can save it by soaking it in baking soda or alcohol. I usually just let it soak for a few day. And sometime ill dry fire it with a few pulse till you see that its fire up red. Now just think about your coil is already burnt so you you really have no choice but to try these method out. Or like the post on top of me stated you can rebuilt your coil to save the $4-$5 bux per coils. Just so you know a Alantis coil will last you up to 3weeks ofc depending how much you vape but GL.

What rig are you running and at what voltage if using a VV?

And how long have you been using this head?

Hey, the head was brand new... Or at least it was the one already installed when I bought the unit. I've been using the Aspire CF sub-ohm battery, 2000mah. I appreciate the link for 40% off Susan! As well as the links for rebuilding. I ordered a couple eleaf Istick 30W boxes to be able to really start experimenting and personalizing my vaping experience. Still no cigs or chew!!! I actually threw out some cigs I had left over the other day... Super excited and could not be happier!!!!

Thanks everyone for the responses!
