Burnt plastic taste/odor Ego XL carto

Ordered a 5 pack of these from greenhouseone - eGo Empty Cartomizers (Pack of 5)

Filled the first one last night and it produced good vapor at first, though seemed to lack flavor (filled w/ new 50/50 root beer from vaporbomb). Must've injected a solid ml, probably didn't get 20 hits off it before inhaling a distinctive burnt plastic hit. Took a few small puffs without inhaling just now and got the same.

Of course I won't be using this thing anymore but now I'm not sure if I should risk using the other 4 either. The burnt plastic hit just happened outta nowhere with no warning, so I feel like each hit with the others I'll be playing russian roulette.

Has anyone else had or heard of this happening before? Is it unusual? I hope so! Should I crack the thing open and see if anything's burnt in there?

edit - just wanted to add that i was using it on a 5 volt PT. I see some others have the burnt plastic problem though not sure they're using the same model as mine.

Burnt plastic definetly isn't sounding kosher. I have no experience with anything that the company sells either, so am probably not the best one to try and help out, but personally, I would crack it open and see what's going on around the coil and the wick. Worst case scenario is that you actually find out what's causing the burnt plastic and can start working with the company on a switch or a refund (again no idea how well they handle their business end.)

I tried these around the beginning of September with similar results. I ordered a five pack and used 4 of them. The fifth remains unused and will likely remain so.
