I let my buddy vape on my 134 mini with a Nautilus mini and he vaped the tank dry.

Anyhow, super burnt taste when he handed it back to me!

I changed the coil and put in new juice, but the burnt taste remains. Should I dump the e-liquid and clean the daylights out of the entire tank? Or should I save the juice, clean, and then reuse the juice?

I also tried dry burning both coils after washing them.. I'm somewhat noobish so idk if you are supposed to do that with BVC coils…

So far, the Nautilus Mini has pwned all other tanks I have used, until this..

Thanks in advance!

I would dump the juice... clean it up good and be sure to prime the new coil with a couple of drops of e-juice and prime it good with a few draws before firing it.

You mean put a drop or two straight into the top of the coil ?
The issue with that is that there's the sceen thingabagig to lessen the coild from spitting hot liquid out the mouthpiece...

The wicking material in these coils needs to be thoroughly saturated before using them, and it takes a while when you first load up a new coil. I like to drip a few drops of juice down into the coil where the mesh screen is then put the coil into the tank and let it sit for ten minutes (with the tank full). Give it several unpowered primer puffs (covering the airflow holes) during these ten minutes. This should make sure you get the wick fully saturated.

I don't dry burn these coils. Once the wicking material gets burnt I have found that the burnt taste does not go away.

Take a look at what the fiber does when it's dry burned. (It starts about 14 minutes in.)

We don't know what that material is exactly, but per their lab report, now deleted from the website, it's fiberglass. Aspire doesn't claim anything anymore wrt to the material they use. http://forum.aspirecig.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=77

The filler crumbles and burns and it's wrapped around the heating coil. Please don't dry burn it. And here's part 2 of the video you linked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU9PlSfNWSs

That first paragraph sounds very, very familiar...

Here's the complete thread INCLUDING how one member cleans his coils: Dry Burning Nautilus BVC.

I have not tried this yet but it's on my list to try.

Ok.. Problem solved. Thanks for the tips. Did not dry burn. Kinda scared to do it without being able to see the coil.

On the new atomizer that was tasting burned, I just threw out the liquid, washed it out real well with hot water.. as well as the actual tank, base, and tip. I didn't let anything dry overnight. Just blew through everything and paper towel dried it.
After letting it sit for 10 mins with juice in the tank , priming several times, and vaping through it for a bit… all is well.

As far as the other head that caused burnt taste to begin with, I did the baking soda / hydrogen peroxide / microwave for 1 min / stir a couple times over 5 mins/ rinse in cold water / blow through it /overnight dry suggestion at the link and it worked. Burnt taste is gone. I can't say that technique was overkill or not, but if all else fails, that's about as far as I'd go! Seems to really clean the atty out though.. The screen inside is even shiny like new after doing that.
Perhaps I could have gotten away doing something less extreme... No way of telling now though!
