Been a while since I posted. Finally put down my DSE 901 (3+ years on the original 4 attys and original batts) and got a Riva 510. I use carts, they are full, but I'm getting a burnt taste most of the time. Dripping directly onto the atty seems to only help a little. Anyone else have this problem? COuld it be the atty gets too hot as to override the taste?

Yes. those batts and atts lasted a LONG time. I did, in fairness, resurrect the attys on several occasions with a cola bath. Worked great.

My carts are the ones with the poly filler. It's like the atty isn't getting wet enough. But even when I drip directly on it, it stills taste like burnt sugar. Now a new Riva. I've used it off and on for a couple of months. I should be past the primer stage.

Have you tried a new attie?

The Riva batteries will give out a higher voltage (3.7v) and mure current so they could be burning any gunk left in your atomisers.

Try cleaning the atty by rinsing, dry burning and then clean, I use denture cleaning tablets in hot water, which works well for me. Though these days I tend to almost exclusively use cartomisers, if one gets tight or burnt I just bin it and start a new one.
