this is my first time using something like this so maybe im doing something wrong..but, I keep getting this burnt taste. It's horrible. Anyone know why this is happening?

I followed her directions in this video Kanger Pro Tank - YouTube

Actually, I didn't let it sit for a few minutes. I fired it up right after I filled it and got a horrible burnt taste from it. I have been letting it sit for about 10 minutes now and I still get the burnt taste, but its not nearly as bad as before.

Yeah, you need to let your wick get fully saturated before firing it up. It's also a good idea to wash any new clearo before using it to get any manufacturing oil, etc. off. I soak my stuff in vodka then let dry. Finally, if you're using a VV device, check to see if you're setting is too high and burning your juice. Just a few things off the top of my head, and I'm sure others will have other ideas as well. Hope this helps!

Good idea to rinse out all atomizers first. But for sure new heads/ that replaceable part. Portank types don't need as many watts as other types IME. I run my between 6-8 watts. You did not say what type of battery you have so I will break it down.

For a Variable Voltage you use the chart that came with it to set your voltage. I'd go a little low at first. Also if it has this setting make sure it is on TRUE RMS.
For a Variable Wattage again make sure it is on TRUE RMS setting and keep the wattage between 6-8 watts.
For a Mechanical mod which run at 4.2 volts you want to use a protank head that is above 2 ohms.
For a non VV/VW battery like the Ego I believe they run 3.7 volts Don't remember for sure. I'd use a head that is below 2 ohm.

I unscrew the base from the tank and then soak the whole thing. You don't have to use vodka, but I find the el cheapo rotgut stuff (not wasting any Stoli here :D) works great. Some folks just use hot water, and that is definitely better than nothing.
