Burnt taste question

I only got my twist 650 mah last week, with a mini nova.

I played around with voltage so far 4.0 seems to be magic spot.

I refilled the mini nova just once. Now ever since I did that every once in a while I get a slightly burnt taste. It is not horrible, but I taste it a little bit here and there.

I try to move it everytime I use to get juice all over the wicks. Right now I have a litte under 2 ml in the mini nova, so I know it not empty.

I did let it get very low before I refilled, and using juice MVS sent me killa vanilla until I get my other supply tomorrow.

So my question is, what causes that burnt taste, and why don't I get it all the time?

Is it something I am doing wrong? Is the head on mini nova already bad? Did I go to high on the voltage and once you do that and get burnt taste it like that for now? I did go up to the max a few times just to see the difference. I am also using the 2.4 ohm head that came with it

I filled it up the first time when I first got it, and when it got real low, maybe half ml left, I refilled it back to 2.5 ml or close to the top.

So only refilled it once

So, less than 2 tanks through it. If your juice is really dark I would say that the VN might be starting to get slightly gunked up, but I have never seen it happen this fast. I would try to lower the volts slightly until it was consistently good, vape for a couple of hours and then try raising it again. Otherwise keep doing what you are doing.

Edit: If the coil gets gunked up you can dry burn them. Just google dry burn vivi nova and you will find how to do it.

Its a top coiled type of atomizer in the vivi + mini vivi nova.

The slightly dry burnt "hit" is a sign the wick is not saturated enough with eliquid. Just tilt your vape at an angle, this will get the wick plenty wet once again.

If this does not change the burnt taste your coil may be getting gunked up. Then its time to rinse out that vivi nova, and then do a dry burn on that coil.

In order to dry burn you have to empty it right? I will google it

this is the juice they sent me as a 5 ml sample

Killa Vanilla High Caliber Eliquid

It not bad taste though too sweet for me, but it is dark though I have no comparison to anything else, so not sure how dark it is compared to other juices, but it looks brown in my mini nova plastic tube.

Hopefully tomorrow I get my tobbaco juice

Sweet ejuice can gunk up coils quicker.

Ya, after you take that vivi nova apart run hot water on it awhile or drop it in a bowl of distilled water overnight. Then just put the inside pole and base on your battery and TURN VOLTAGE DOWN ON UR TWIST.......then pulse power on/off...on/off.....eventually wisps of smoke will billow off it.....blow on that wick in between pulses cooling it down a tad.....once it stops smoking and coils all glow orange STOP....its clean

(take off tiny plastic THINGAMABOB that sits on top of a Vivi Nova atomizer first before dry burning)

I love Apollo's French Vanilla. The longer it steeps, the darker it will get. However, I have to rinse my CE5's head after the third refill, 'cause it's developing a burnt flavor. In addition, I'm vaping it between 3.5 - 3.7 V on my eGo-vv.

It wouldn't need to do a dry burn yet, if your using the 1.8ohm head 4v will burn at times but after every hit you turn the nova upside down to saturate your wicks you should be good. With top coil its easier to get a dry/burnt hit and it becomes habit to tilt the tip downwards and turn it as time goes on. Bottom coils don't happen as often but they leak/flood easier so I prefer the top coil vivis

wait when you say upside sown, you mean literally take the nova and put it upside down won't the juice leak out of the tip? How long do you hold it upside down?

EDIT: I should be getting Apache from MountainOakvapor either tomorrow or Thursday. Hope sooner then later this vanilla is just too much after a while, Tastes good after a dinner like dessert but all day vape no way. Hopefully Apache won't do it as bad as this
