Why am I getting a burnt taste all of a sudden?

My heads usually last me around 2 weeks but I vape allot, sounds like you may be running the volts too high but I would be concerned that it may not be putting the same volts that you set through it, I don't think you'll need to keep buying new atomisers and trying to resolve the problem that way, with a brand new head and even a new vivi if your still having the problem maybe there's an issue with you battery/mod, do you still get the burn fast when running it at around 3.4-3.7 wats (standard ego voltage) if so I'd consider looking into potential problems with your battery/mod. Make sure you clean around the centre pin really well as crap and stuff tends to build up there and maybe creating some sort or short.

OP said the head was 2.4ohms. Assuming that is correct, there should be no reason why he can't use at least 4 volts or more. I have a 2ohm head in the vivi nova sitting on my zmax right now that I am vaping at 4.1 volts with no burnt taste at all.

Vivi novas are well known for wicking poorly with thicker juices or if the vivi nova twirl is not employed as a vape strategy. I find it highly unlikely that there is something wrong with the battery causing the burnt taste.

Nashville - Did you make sure your zmax was set in RMS mode?
and do you know the ratio of your juice?

I feel like vape A LOT as well, I go through 3 18350 batteries a day. I'm in pharmaceutical sales so I live in my car and there's nothing else to do all day, every day ;)
I'm not tasting it when I go down to the 3.5 range, but that sucks I can't go higher.

Use 18650 batteries. 18350's aren't great for charge density...

Got a trick for you bud

This Energy Saving 900mAh Electronic Cigarette USB Rechargeable E-Cigarette - Stainless Steel China Wholesale - ahappydeal.com and this Portable and Useful 6 in 1 USB Retractable Cable and Usams Dual USB Car Charger - White China Wholesale - ahappydeal.com and you won't have to use up your batteries in your rig "in your car" use the mobile power of the batteries in your MOD when you are "out and about"

It's what I do...and since I live at my computer well...you see the pro's of having a static USB bypass right?

First, I'm a she not a he ;) Lol.

I still can't figure out what is causing my problem. I'm vaping 50/50 right now, but I've ordered some 30/70 because I don't like the throat hit I'm getting with the 50/50. Is the higher VG going to cause me problems?

Yes, my zmax has been set on RMS since I got it a month ago. What do I do from here???

Aah, right, sorry ma'am

The higher VG juice may not wick properly - but like I said, if you keep the clearo more than 1/2 full and do the twirl, it should be alright. I use mainly 50/50 with no problems.

So trying to figure this out - you've tried a brand new coil head in the vivi nova and you are still getting the burnt taste? Have you tried a different juice in there.?

Are you getting any flavor and vapor, or just burnt juice? Have you ever had it working right so it tasted good, or is this an issue since you got the vivi nova and started using it.

Also, with your zmax, what ohm head is it reading - not what is written on the head - what does your battery say it is and how many volts are you using? Have you tried in power / wattage mode and do you get the same issue?

Finally, fill your clearo up - right up to the bottom of the silicone cap - twirl it around a bit and try again - see if that helps.

This is hard to diagnose, but we'll get there. There are only a few things that cause the burnt taste, so step by step.

Finally, I know I said I don't think it's the zmax, but do you have another device to try the vivi nova on - just so we can eliminate it as the issue? It's rare for the battery to cause the issue but I suppose it might be.

I don't know what I did to fix it, but I'm not getting the burnt taste anymore. I tried so many different things that I don't know which worked. Thx for all the help.

LOL, that's great. Vaping is fiddly, you always have to fiddle, clean, twirl and don't forget to enjoy.

Glad you got it sorted :toast:
