Burnt taste when vaping.

To preface I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the ins and outs of how everything works. I'm using the Curve VT40 from anywhere between 25-40W at 300°C and everytime I take a drag from the E-Cig I get this foul burning taste which I can't get rid of. The coil I'm currently using is 2 days old but it was also doing it on the last coil. The coil is 0.15 ohms and the liquid I'm using is predominately VG. I was told with the last liquid I had that it needed to be mostly VG as it vapes a lot better on sub ohm coils and everything was great with it. I then bought a new liquid (80% VG) and I'd say 1 out of every 10 drags produces any flavour or is even bearable to smoke. Has anyone got any advice on how to fix the issue and am I doing anything wrong?

To get you running quickly, I suggest you reduce the temperature setting. You should not get a burnt vape at 215 C no matter what wattage you set. I would leave the watts at 25.

If you do not get enough vapor and flavor at 215, increase the temperature in around 10 deg intervals until you like the vape. If you notice the juice is burning before you get the vape you like, the tank is probably not capable of running at high enough watts for you.

There is more to it, but this should get you going. Let us know how it goes :)

I just Googled and found this mod is an Istick (thought it looked familiar). I don't have one, but going from a review of the Istick 40 watt it seems the watts can not be adjusted down from 40 when the mod is in temperature control mode. If that's true and you can reduce the watts, your mod has come out of TC mode and is in variable wattage mode. Of course, then you likely should not be able to adjust the temperature.

If the mod is in variable wattage mode, you should not be using a nickel coil so I would either get it back into TC mode or replace the coil with a Kanthal version. With a Kanthal coil all you can adjust is the watts, so start low, say 12 watts and work up slowly until you get a good vape. If you go too high it will burn again.

I can't help with getting the mod into TC mode properly, but you should have a user guide that will tell you how to do it.

Sounds like your using a Nickel coil with that resistance... Did you lock in the base resistance of the coil at room temperature before vaping? If not, that would explain the harsh taste you are getting. I found this link for user manual for your device... Curve VT40 I am pretty sure you will find your answers there :)
