Burnt taste with cartomizer...drawing too long?

Could be the juice.
I was hacking and coughing after my 2nd day of vaping. Tasted like burnd paper and left a film on my toungue, so gross. Was convinced my ATTYS were done for (because of the burnt taste)... Switched brands of juice and bingo - problem over.
I now sometimes hold my button down (manual pv) for about 10 secs whilst chain vaping / inhaling / exhaling multiple times and no problemos....

id say the juice too but more so to the point that you might not have enough in your carto
V4L has two kinds of cartos and sometimes it's hard to tell which one a prefilled uses. Their Coolcarts don't burn quite as hot. In the blanks, their WOW carts are the 2.x (somewhere in the high 2's) ohm ones and hotter, and their Premium Coolcarts are 3.x ohm and the cooler ones. On top of that, I think they changed what they called the two kinds in the past so I guess go by what they are calling the blanks.

I tried cartos for a very short time, then gave the rest to a friend that likes them.

I used cartomizers for about 8 months and now only atomizers, took many tries and a while to change but it's all for the best, I can so taste the nasty taste of filler in cartomizers and it doesn't take too long before they have that burnt taste.
As with attys, every carto is unique. Try overfilling it and blowing out the excess to make sure you have it good and soaked. I gave up cartos and went back to attys for that exact same reason. Put a bit too much juice in -- flooded and leaking. Not quite enough -- burnt taste & low vapor..... some cartos are better than others and some are worse.... and like i said, each one is unique...the variations in manufacturing can be anywhere from minimal to drastic. Try another carto and if that doesn't work, try another brand if you want to stay with them. If it turns out to be just drying out too quickly from vaping heavy, get a drip tip for your model cartos and drip them like an atty.
Apparently with cartos it also can sometimes help to tilt the e-cigarette if it starts to give less vapor or taste dry. Tilt mouthpiece down or rotate it to try to distribute the just that is left in it and wet the embedded atty.
Are the cartomizers plastic by chance? I just went through this myself and it is a god awful taste! I bought some not thinking it would make a difference and apparently, when you heat up plastic is tastes gross. Who would have thought it? LOL Apparently not ME. Long story short, I finally had a flash of brilliance and tried them on my regular 510 battery instead of my EGo and it was like an entirely new experience. Gave the remainders to my sisters for use with her 510s and she loves them. Just thought I'd throw that out there...
If you want cartomizers but decide to try a new kind, the 902 carto from ModernVapor is excellent. And this is coming from a guy who swore I'd stick with attys. I know 510s fit on the 902 battery so it should work the other way around as well, just ask to be sure. Good luck!
Are you having this problem with pre-filled cartos or ones you've filled yourself? This should't happen with factory pre-filleds, unless you've vaped them long and dry. If filling yourself, the Wow cartos will take approx. 30 drops and Coolcarts appox. 40, with best results using the drip-Taryn Spin-drip method. Remember, once you get that burnt taste, the carto is pretty much useless and should be tossed.
Prefilled. I did not mention that it was with the USB passthrough. I have noticed the cool carts I recieved free are not as bad. I thought they were refilled w 18-20 drops....maybe that is the problem. I have been flickin but not spinning.
I hope I can figure something out, I am on an extreme budget (two sets of twins) and almost out of everything. Did not have enough $ to buy what I would have liked.
