I've hit a brick wall. My 'resistance' ;) to wrapping coils and doing my own rba's is now causing actual pain. In the wallet that is. I'm finding out if I want to enjoy my 100% VG juices I am going to have to do something different. Clogged cartos, gunked up protank heads and all that stuff is starting to add up money-wise. If protank heads were 4 for $1 it would be different. Then it's finding someone who has them in stock at a decent price and in the resistance I want. I think I've gone as far as I can without doing at least an RSST tank or something.

Had a go at one coil and about fried a VV device and battery and it scared me off a little. I am just not tech savvy and I've been warned by people who know this stuff not to try it unless I know what I'm doing. I ordered a HH357 and that will probably work, but after awhile that coil is going to get gunked too. WAH!

I know eventually there is going to be something factory produced but until then it's aggravating. :2c:

Check out 'Micro Coils'(ALL WRAPS TOUCHING). They are SO much easier to wrap than traditional coils. There is even a block that can be puchased online somewhwew with an alligator clip on one end and a drill bit type of post on the opposite end to make the process even simpler ... can't remember where I saw it perhaps if someone else knows they can provide a link?
Micro coils greatly simplify the coil making process. Youcan do it!

I hear ya and I am feelin the same pain...

love my 100% VG juice (RY4 type mostly) and just wish these coils would last
and perform better. I toy with some other juice a LITTLE and it allows coils to last forever.

So my new goal has been to find VG juice that will work with the Kanger 'bcc' coil/wick assemblies
that I like to use mostly.

;)

Wrapping coils is not hard. It's wrapping coils on SS mesh that may be hard to learn at first.

The sensible way of going about it is to learn it with a regulated/protected VV mod, like the Vamo and its likes. In case of a short or too low resistance, it simply won't fire. You'll probably make a couple of mistakes while learning, but a setup like this should stop those mistakes from becoming accidents.

rounding third and heading home...
if you don't want to learn how to wrap coils than don't. I have never had a problem with my protanks, puritanks, cylos, or any tank even with 100% vg(bobas). learn instead how to clean and rotate heads in an alcohol or vodka solution and learn how to VAPE . it's not smoking and i'll bet most of the problems people have is because they hit everything like its a cigarette after great sex. preaching over......

I have no idea what kind of batteries the OP has but I will warn you that rebuilt coils for EVODs, Vivi Novas, and PT's do NOT work on the older Joytech eGo-T batteries. I cannot for the life of me figure out why a 2.4 ohm rebuilt coil will not fire but a 2.4 ohm factory coil will. It is not a problem with the rebuilt coil because it fires perfectly on everything else....just not the eGo-T. I have no idea how the battery "knows" the coil is rebuilt.

Other than that I find recoiling those type of heads extremely easy and I put together a little pictorial on how I do it here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/469445-wick-preferences-3.html#post10726739

You talk about enjoying 100% VG juice.
Do you have a problem with vaping PG? or a PG/VG blend?
Or is that just your personal preference??

Recoiling an atomizer is easy stuff. Its the dual coil type stuff I stray away from. If I have to do math for something, its not for me. But making a 1.5 ohm coil is almost as easy as baking a mrs. fields pie.

Make 2, then you get 0.75. There ya go, there's your "math". Easy as pie.

The "FINE" place
Microcoils with cotton wicks makes everything super easy. At the end of the day, when your coil is gunked, just remove the cotton wick, rinse and dry burn and insert a new wick. I do it in less than a minute when changing the wick.

The coils, i only change once a month on my Rba's.

And if you have one of those days when you feel you want to do more "coiling exercises", you could just prepare some for standby when you need it in the future.

QFT!

I was leery of wrapping coils but once you get a few under your belt you'll realize how easy it is. Every coil wont be perfect and that's fine. The best advice I can give you is to check your Ohms. If your mod doesnt have that options, get a dedicated checker.. if you cant swing that, find one at a hardware store.

You can get enough cotton and kanthal to wrap 100's of coils for under 20 bucks. I personally use a toothpick to wrap my coils because I find the wood holds onto the coils better then a drill bit.
