The Prodigy V2 uses the "new & improved" mechanical switch. I ordered one of these new switches for my Protege and have yet to see a consistent hit with it. Either does not fire or only partially. Needless to say, I went back to the original tact switch.

Oh well, it is still better then switching out the standard batteries for a 501.

We all have to keep in mind that vaping is still a cottage industry. ;)

Since I took it apart and cleaned it, it works much better, but I'm sure it will get gunked up again so I figure this to be part of the maintenance

I have to take mine out and readjust all the time. Sometimes it fires nicely and other times it will not fire no matter what I do.

I have looked at the switch and nothing seems wrong. put it back in and it works.

I think it is a design issue maybe.

Cleaning it didnt help as it was clean to begin with. No delrin anywhere its not suppose to be. Contacts look fine.. Strange..

When it fires it is heaven. when it doesnt, it stinks.. lol

Just got my 510 Titan Mega carts and one Mega atty (one atty is $18.00!!).

I pulled out the with fluffy stuff out of the cart, and replaced with a extra long (about 1 1/4'') strip of blu foam so it sticks way out of the top of the
cart.
I saturated it like a sponge with juice (it holds alot, but will give exact amount later) and added a few drops directly onto the bridge of the atty.

As you well know, I have the 5V version of the Prodigy V2, and I can tell
ya I've been vaping on this for hours (I do take small and short drags since I only use VG these days) and it is going strong and hasnt run down
to the "burning" taste yet.

I did have to pull the wick fibers out of my old atty last night because I
kept getting that "burnt" taste well before running out of juice.

The fibers were really cooked black!! now this old atty works fine :D

These Mega 510 carts and attys are GREAT!!!

I cut my blue into a 1/2 X 1 1/4'' strip and stuff it down into the card, than fill the void with juice, reach down into the cart with needle nose
tweezers, and pull it up to "suck up" the juice like a sponge.

The blue foam sticks up from the cart and I stuff that into my already
primed Mega atty.

So far, it has already lasted 2 times longer then the regular cart/atty.

If your like me, and hate having to top off or direct drip constantly, this
is the wa to go

If the Mega attys werent so expensive, I would buy a few more right now!! :p

oh, I got my Mega carts/attys from Tottally Wicked (USA) ;)

Take the switch apart and turn the post so the round side is up and the flat side down. I tried everything else as well before trying this. It's been 18 hours and it fires everytime.

I was having the same problems so many others are having until turning those posts around. Now any slight push and the button fires. I can even push it with my pinkie...

Now that it's so easy to complete the circuit I think I need a stronger/longer spring. Well...time to destroy some pens.

Great find Harpo, thanks for sharing!

At least you can remove the switch and tweek it. It would be hell if you couldn't. I don't think any of the HV's are without some sort of maintenance or tweeking. If you use one for a month or two and have absolutely no maintenance or tweeking, you are a very lucky person. The only one that comes close for me so far is a magnum by madog, and even with this magnum being no maintenance, all of the 901 atty's don't fit it, some of them don't make the connection when you screw it on.

I ripped a few pens apart in search of the "perfect" spring, just watch out, some of those pen springs are LONG, making for a LONG trip for your switch if you take it apart again without holding it down. :)

I was having the same problems so many others are having until turning those posts around. Now any slight push and the button fires. I can even push it with my pinkie...

I have been having what I thought was switch problems. I have taken it apart like three times, turned the posts over, tried every combination of pushing the button I could think of and the performace seemed to get worse each time other than the occasional short periods of performance.
As of yesterday I cannot get any of my attys to fire on it and was getting ready to pack it up and send it back to PS to fix. I did not make it to the post office today and when I came home I noticed that my two adapters had arrived, the 801 and 901, So I have a couple of 801 attys here and decided to try them out.
It works fine so far with the 801 so now I am thinking my problem has been the 510 adapter all along.

How many of you having this problem are using the 510 adaptor? Just curious.

I just ordered this and haven't tried it on the PS mod yet, but I'm betting this will give it the connection to switch on easier. Silver Conductive Grease, Temp -70 to 485 - Greases - Lubricants - Power Tools & Metalworking : Grainger Industrial Supply

Wanted to report that I got this conductive grease and it got all over the contact switch on my wifes Protege and started to fire the atty constantly. Had to clean it all off which wasn't easy. This was recommended for the "Super T" products but I don't think it helps on the PS equipment.

Sorry to hear about all the problems people have been having with the V2's. I personally love my 510 version. Looks, feels and vapes great. It is kind of spotty but now and then I do have to use a little more pressure or tilt the switch a pinch, doesn't really bother me though. The first atty I used didn't work but it had been on a 401 atty as a battery connector that pushed the atty post in a little. I have had 3 new atties (1 from PS, 2 from heaven-gifts) work perfectly on the adapter.
