Hi. I have a lavatube that uses a 18650 button top battery. I was thinking about ordering a Vamo V2 from fast tech and it says it uses the same size battery but doesn't say if it needs to be button top or flat top. Whats the difference? Are they interchangeable?

Unless the mod manufacturer specifically states one over another, they can be considered interchangeable.
The only mod manufacturer that I am aware of that specifically states button-top IMR batteries is Provape for the Provari. The Provari's positive battery contact will only accept a button-top battery. It was designed this way to prevent accidentally putting a flat top battery in backwards which would create a reverse polarity issue with the circuit board.
