Hi all,

Firstly mods, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, it's the only place I can post at the moment.

I've been vaping for a couple months and am fed up with the rechargable cig I got from the supermarket. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy vaper but would like to invest in some proper gear.

I'm about to spend quite a lot of money on a Triton and accessories and am not sure if I'm going overboard or even missing something. Shipping costs and possibly import tax means I would like this order to last me a long time (years?). I can buy the Halo liquids in the UK, but unfortunately none of the Triton gear so I want to get everything I need in this one order.

You're welcome to suggest alternatives to the Triton, but from what I've read so far it's the way I should go (hopefully I don't open a can of worms with this comment!)

I vape at home and when I'm out so would like something more discreet than the Triton tank system for when I'm out. For this reason I think I should get some low resistance blank cartomizers and a standard size Triton cone?

I also have no idea about the flavours, so would also like to get a couple sample packs.

This is what I'm planning to get so far...

Shipping for this order is $47 to the UK, so a total of $186! Tell me if I'm crazy for spending this money and I'm going about this the wrong way...

A few questions:

1. Why does the starter kit include a large cone? Aren't they for using the with extra large cartomizers (which aren't in the kit)?
2. Should I buy another tank ontop of the two in the kit? I want this to last for ages before my next order.
3. What resistance coils should I get?
4. A friend wants me to order him just 1 Triton battery and 1 Tank, will the battery be compatible with the other e-cig chargers he has?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help.

I thought I should get the Triton since they have very good reviews and all their liquids contain ingredients that are FDA and FMEA approved. I don't know if I've fallen for the blurb on their site, but it looks like a quality product. What Makes Halo Different | Halo Cigs

I'm a complete newbie at this though, open to any suggestions.

In all honesty it's the usual guff thrown at people who like yourself are not familiar with what you are buying yet we have all been there lol the battery being used is called a ego type battery which can be typically be picked up for around 20/25 pounds for a startd kit depending on hw many batteries you get ect the liquid is entirely up to yourself you will be hard pressed to find a uk vendor which doesn't use FDA approved ingredients and the atomiser they sell with look like kanger t3s which usually sell for around a fiver

The triton tank is just a kanger T2 with different threading. The battery is just a ego battery with different threading, just a good quality one. I am sure you could get a T2 and a good joye ego battery in the UK much cheaper. Just a thought.

Ah is it a t2 lol thought it was a kanger couldn't work out which one

I started with the Triton system. Since you are going with the tank system, you can kick out the blank (which is for the G6 system, not the Triton) and the cone (because you won't need a cone with the tank setup).

Everything else looks ok for a starter kit. Might want to add an extra pack of coils but that would be about it.

Be ready to explore all the great juice vendors out there. :)

Some more info about me in case it helps:

-Newbie vaper
-Been on/off cigarettes and e-cigs for a few months, mainly because the e-cig I have is terrible! (from a supermarket) (Rechargeables - Regular V2 Rechargeable Electronic Cigarette Regular (10M_V2REG) from Ten Motives)
-I don't want any hassle with cheap or unreliable products, I'm happy to invest in some decent gear.
-I've read tanks are the way to go in terms of quality of vaping, amount of smoke, flavour and cost.

Fishtec, I'll be honest...this website attracted me to the Halo products...

The top 10 ultimate best E Cigarettes in 2013 reviews and tests

After reading that, and lots of positive reviews of the Halo Triton around the internet, I thought it was the one to go for...

Frank, I thought the blanks and small cone were for using the Triton a bit more discreetly (instead of the tank)?

Thanks for all the replies guys, keep 'em coming. I'm off to bed now but will read all your responses tomorrow evening and act accordingly!

I started w/G6 moved to. Triton 450, then Triton 900 and VV...love Halo. No problems, no leaks, batteries last a long time. I have friends who went the "cheap" route and has had leaks, coil issues and one friend had a battery that lasted like a week. You'll be happy with the Halo.

I would also skip the cone, why hide it? It looks cool. I would get extra tanks too. If you plan on doing "taste tests" w/the LR blanks, that's cool but I use mini tanks for taste testing. The ONLY draw back I see for you, is that you really can't change out tanks w/other vendors because Halo doesn't play nice w/others.

In the US, not a problem, just order and ship but for you...that's expensive.....That would be the only reason I'd say to think about another PV. When you get enough posts, try the Halo Forum on here for more info...

the triton works great but the the battery and tank threads are different than almost everything else out there. this means when you need to replace something you will have to order from Halo. if you go ego or 510 thread size you can buy parts anywhere. if you don`t mind the shipping fees and wait times you will like how the triton performs. i have been using a triton kit for 4-5 weeks now and no leaks or any other problems. just my 2 cents.:vapor:

Thanks for that Vapoor.

Hopefully I can post in the UK forum with my post count now so I'll direct my questions over there. I'll keep checking here though in case anyone has anything else to add.

Thanks guys

You're very welcome Flavorful. Chrissie is also in the ECF UK Forum and is a wealth of info. If looking for Riva reviews it's also known as the Kgo. I own and like it.
Best of Luck.

Ok, I see your point re: blanks and the cone. My experience has been the tanks won't draw any more attention than the blank/cone, but mods are pretty common in the smoking pit where I work.
I scaled up from the Triton to a ProVari, Cyborg, or Nemesis at work and no one even blinked.
