Regular Provari and Mini with battery extension. Same 18490 battery for both in this configuration.

That's very helpful. I don't know why an inch makes such a difference, but I really like the mini and doubt if I'd use it in the 18490 mode. It shouldn't be that big of a deal and the full size sell for a lot less on the classifieds. But it's enough that I haven't done it yet and I'm waiting for a mini. I'm away from the house most of the day, so I need portable.

Mini with 18490 extension cap is a nice hefty stealth vape....an average sized hand will engulf it. I like the looks of it moreso then the fullsize.

I prefer the Mini for outside the house. I recently used it in stealth mode at the cinema in place of the tiny Smoktech Gripper I normally use there. The Mini is actually more pocket-friendly and just as stealth-like as the Gripper.

Mini Provari vs Smoktech Gripper

Great minds think alike. The vapemail just delivered my tiny Gripper this weekend. I got it for hiking, etc. when I wanted something more pocket friendly, simple and sturdy. I haven't fired it up yet. I have to figure out how to use carto's now. I also thought it would make a decent dripper, eventually - that's another learning curve.

But now I have a really good size reference. Thx.

Any XL or 45mm long carto without the flange near the connector will work within the Gripper. I tried putting a tank replacement carto (holes taped up) with the flanges in the Gripper today and the flange wouldn't fit in the hole the carto goes in.

Hopefully you also picked up the Gripper extension adaptor. It allows you to connect other juice delivery devices like a dripping atty or a tank like the above 3rd pic shows. I use it to attach cartotanks and a dripping atty. I'm not sure, but if you can find a dripping atty that's the same 45mm length as an XL cartomizer, it might fit in the Gripper w/o the extension adaptor.

I can offer you the method I use to fill my cartos. It is explained in this blog article; just ignore the parts after filling the cartomizer. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html

I got the Mini with the extension cap, primarily because I like the teardrop pattern on it better than the elliptical pattern on the full size. Pretty is important to me. :D Also, I can go small with the smaller batteries or transform to basically full size with the extension cap, so it works.

Yes I got the extension for the gripper and I'm sure glad I did. That offers lots more options. What tank did you have on yours? Is that an IB Tanked - if so, it must be their 19mm size?

I'm hoping to see my (new to me) mini provari in the mail soon. I got lucky (finally) on the classifieds. It's coming with a Cirrus tank - which as far as I can tell, got good reviews. They just aren't sold much outside of b&m stores located in So. Calif. It takes the std Boge 510 cart and I'm starting with pre-punched.

I'm on a mission to get rid of polycarbonates after looking up a little information on how it reacts with heat, etc. The idea of vaping plastic/BPA kinda devalues my whole purpose of vaping. It leaches long before signs appear on the tank.

Thx for your help. I'm a big fan of your blog.
