Buying battery. Not sure if exactly the same.

Hey, guys. I'm thinking of buying a battery on amazon.com for my Kanger subox Nano. The batteries I looked at were very identical to the one I already have--only differing in a few words/numbers.

My existing battery has the following text:
INR18650-25R
SAMSUNG SDI
6 2F83

The one's on amazon...:
INR18650-25R
SAMSUNG SDI
5 2F93

It looks like a trivial difference, but I'm curious what is the difference, and would it work on my mod? It might, however, be better to buy a charger instead--I hear they charge better than through mod itself. So, another question is: what is a good charger to get? Will a $15-20 charger be worth it?

Thanks,
choui

The old Samsung 25Rs had a blue wrapper but Samsung is phasing those out and replacing them with a newly designed version of the 25R which are green. Unfortunately, there's a lot of counterfeit batteries out there, a real but avoidable safety risk. For safety and peace of mind I stick to buying batteries from experienced, reputable and knowledgeable sources like Illumn.com. Samsung 25Rs are currently just $4 each and you can rest assured they're genuine Samsung batteries.

Which battery is best for you depends on your build and power requirements. For me the Samsung 3000mAh 30Q, Sony 3000mAh VTC6 or LG 3000mAh HG2 are all a good fit, their "true" constant discharge rates are nearly double what my builds actually require providing me with an added safety margin. Like others have said, I check Mooch's recommendations to ensure that a battery's claimed constant discharge rating is accurate. Several battery manufacturers (and vendors) list false "exaggerated" constant discharge ratings which could be hazardous for a sub-ohm vaper.

A multi-bay charger can charge and maintain multiple batteries at a time so that when the battery in your mod is drained you can just swap it for a fresh fully charged one and go. Charging batteries while still in the mod requires a USB cord and USB jack, the mod is then tethered to the USB jack for hours on end. If a single battery lasts you more than a day then charging it through the mod while you sleep is fine. If you go through 2 or more batteries per day then a dedicated multi-bay charger might be the better option. There are several quality Li-ion chargers on the market, Nitecore and Xtar are my favorites.

The digits at the bottom indicate Country, Factory, & production line within factory.
I've never been able to obtain a 'cypher'.
Any Fake would have them though.
Manufacturers are aware if counterfeits & it is a growing problem worldwide..
