Im kinda confused.......on a ejuice calculator, for 10% flavor it says i need like 3 ml of flavor.....but on some youtube vidieos i have watched they are only using like 6the drops of flavor.....whats the deal here.......thanks in advance

3ml is 10% of 30. You would be adding 3ml of flavor to 30ml of base for 10% flavor. 3-6 drops per ml is roughly 10-20% flavoring.

A lot of people like to start out with less flavor because 10% is sometimes already too much. Drops are subjective. A drop of thick VG base will be much larger than a drop of thin flavor...for accuracy I like to stick to syringes, but some people like using drops. It all depends on your preference. I even stopped using a calc altogether because I've found I get better results doing my own math on paper.

It definitely depends on what flavors you are using. I am doing some mixes that are 10% TFA fruit and 5% ethyl malto. That is 15% total.

My latest tobacco concoction is 3% 555 tobacco, 3% EM, with a smaller percentage of whip cream, graham cracker and an even smaller percentage of honey. So I end up with a total of around 12% using all TFA flavors. The Flavor Apprentice.

I haven't used other companies flavors but some of them are used in very small amounts.

I use ejuicemeup calculator after I have determined the right strength of each flavor and go from there. Using ejuicemeup maintains the proper mg strength of your final mix allowing for the PG in the flavors.

But, when I am testing flavors I mix up a "base" of nic+pg+vg at a little higher mg level than what I want because adding flavor increases the PG ratio and decreases the mg strength. I posted an example in the super easy diy link given earlier. Once I have my "base" mixed I use a spreadsheet for mixing.

I mix up a small batch at 5% and go from there. I start with a 3ml batch because I use T3's and syringes for mixing.

If you want to use the "batch" method for your final product, add the %'s used in the top half of the chart for the total % ( 5 + 3 + 4 = 12% ) then use the lower half of the chart for your "base" mix.

It isn't just the type of flavoring but its also the brand or manufacturer. TFA flavors for example often require a higher flavor percentage than say ecig express' brand b/c ecig express makes a more concentrated flavor. Other brands will also require more or less.

They do somewhat vary by type also. Fruit flavorings to me require the most flavoring, followed by coffee flavors, then dessert flavors and finally, tobacco flavors you would use a very small flavor percentage.

In general, a good starting point for any flavor is going to be simple to google that flavor and brand to see where others start. If you say google Flavour Art Peach, you'll find some percentages here that people recommend. If you still can't find it, ask on the DIY board. It's a continuing knowledge base and we all benefit.
