The batteries go by several different numbers: RCR123A, CR123A, 16340, CR16340, and ICR123A but they're all the same batteries. The normal working voltage is 3.6 to 3.7 volt. Some retailers describe them as 3.6 volt and others describe them as 3.7 volt but they're the same batteries.

It's best to stick with proven brands like Ultrafire, Trustfire, and AW.

so what AW batteries work in the buzz? Is there a good source to buy from? I am only asking about AW batteries because many seem to like them better than UltraFire or Tenergy... any thoughts? Just ordered mine and I am excited!

AW batteries are the safest and the black Trustfire batteries last the longest. You can get AW at Lighthound.
