Nice work Marv ! Ya I have too many guitars
1963 Melody maker
1977 Les Paul standard
1973 SG
1967 Hagstrom 8 string bass
1990 ?? Strat
GOdin acoustic elec. with midi synth pickup
5 string yamaha bass
5 string fretless bass custom
4 string Ibenez recording bass
Takamine acoustic
etc. etc. I forgot the rest of them
Nice collection! I love the sound of Takamine acoustics. They are my second favorite acoustic guitars with Ovation being my favorite. I have an Ovation (no clue what year, 90ish maybe) and a 69 Harmony hollow body that was my father's. He gave it to me when I was 18 as I was really getting into playing. I always enjoyed listening to him play. I also have a cheapo Fender but I've never really liked how they sound. Some day I want to get a Les Paul. The one I want is about $1100 though.

I've always prfered the sound of the acoustics. I'm an unplugged fan! The fender I got for the hubby wasn't cheap, but there are with a doubt much better ones out there. I guess you would say it is a middle of the road one!

I saw that list and first thing I noticed was the Les Paul!

@ marviner. English is a weird language. I can imagine it's a tough one to learn and most people here haven't taken the time to become fluent in any other languages (myself included) so I've always had some admiration for multi-lingual people. I don't know how you sound when you're speaking english but your writing is more concise than a lot of americans who post on this forum. :)
I've understood every word.

Okay, I've had my MITW special for a bit now and there is only one thing I would change about it. It took me a bit to get up the balls to do this to it, since the thing is so gorgeous and I'm no craftsman, but I finally did it and it needs a touch of lacquer but it was worth it I think...I took a file and went to work...

Taking a file to a MITW special sounds like the worst idea ever...but here's a pic of my one modification:

Thanks :) Well, when speaking I try to pronounce every word as clearly as possible without sounding too awkward. But I guess all is well and good as long as people can understand me. I think at end of the day that's the only thing that matters...

Oh boy. My vacation got started with a nice long sleeping session. I slept so long that my sleep cycle kinda overturned; I now stay awake all night and sleep all day - which is ok I guess:2cool: Since I like science I've been watching all kind of video courses from University of California, Berkeley. I do that this time every year. They are the very same courses which Berkeley students take and quite many of them are open for general public as well. It's a great service. My absolutely favorite lecturer is Alex Filippenko (Professor of astronomy) but unfortunately he's not giving any public courses this year... :(

Wow... I wish I had the nerve to do that. Personally, I'm going with if its not broken don't fix it on this one. While it doesn't feel as nice as the non veneered buzz to turn the wheel, it does turn without hassle (just doesn't "feel" as nice). I'd be to afraid that I'd screw up my beautiful venner.

moorea - did you get that zebra wood BP in your sig? That thing was sooo sexy I almost tried to buy it...but I have to let my funds rest a little bit.

I had a very hard time choosing between the zebra and the curly elm. In the end I went with the curly elm. I have noticed the zebra is no longer listed on notcigs, but I haven't seen anyone post they were the proud owner. Maybe Mike kept it after all!

Also, that looks like an 801 mini on there...did you have this problem:

I haven't clicked on the provided link yet, but I will as soon as I am done posting. It is an 801 stealth mini from ikenvape. I use a tank 24/7. I purchased the adapter only for when I get a new juice and want to test it before I fill a carto with it. When it arrived I didn't have a new juice to test so I threw it in a drawer. About a month later I got a new flavor. The atty did not work. I tried it on bith buzz's and nothing. I'm hoping something in your link will explain why.

Not sure why I saved it, but the reason I used it in the photo, is with Mike's tank coming out soon, I did not want to advertise another!

That looks great! I am concerned that my Hubby will have trouble turning the wheel becasue he has large fingers. I wonder if mist would do this for me on my mappa burl. Hey, mist?

It could be that each veneered one is a bit different, but my hubby has large hands and fingers and he has no problem. As I said above, in my opion the woody wheel functions fine (for both my small fingers and hubby's large fingers) the wheel on the buzz without the veneer feels better to spin.

Prepositions are these little words: in, on, at, into, by ...and so forth. Sometimes there are no rules at all - you just have to remember when and where to use 'em. Same goes with Finnish language as well. Well I guess I learn some new things every day :)

You write in better english than a lot of American people I know, who only speak english. I know it's not saying much, because the American school system sucks, but you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah, like I said, it took me awhile to work myself up to doing it. At first I thought it was perfect the way it was because it would never accidenta-turn in my pocket. But it doesn't accidenta-turn anyway. And before, to adjust, I had to turn it sideways and use my pointer finger to roll it, now I can thumb adjust on the fly. It's a minor convenience, but I figured, it's not like I would ever sell or trade this thing anyway, so if a mar it up, I can live with that. I think it turned out well, a dab of lacquer should finish it off, it's still the most gorgeous PV to ever rest in the palm of my hand. And because I filed it down instead of trying to cut it or something, the edges are very soft and tapered so it's nice to the feel.

I'm sure it is nice to feel... Luckily my fingers are small so I turn the same way I do my not veneered buzz. It would likely feel better if I did what you did, but unlike you I would be upset if I marred mine up. I love mine just the way it is... it is perfection!

The hubby really likes it as well... he has actually had the "accidenta-turn" as you call it more then once on his black BP. So he saw this as plus. I still can't figure out how "accidenta-turn" happened not once but three times, but if there is a way he always finds it!

Thanks again for pointing me to that link... Can't wait to try the atty!

The Zebrawood one was bought by a guy who is a VF member. He also bought the Maple Burl one and a clear and chrome one. He made a nice thread with pics of all three over there. He happens to be a fellow Michigander. Lives about two hours from me.
