Hello, so I'm a big fan of the ejuice calculator but I'm having an issue and can't figure it out. I'm ending up with a 106% total with my mixtures. I'm using a 60vg 40pg blend with one or two flavors which are pg based. I do 6mg of 100mg liquid nicotine and leave the pg / vg at 0 because it's pure nicotine. Can anyone help me figure our why I'm getting this percentage?

Thanks so much,
George

Hmm okay so here's what I'm using. It's the vaping zone 120ml of 100mg flavorless usp nicotine. Info given on the site says "10.0% or 100mg usp grade nicotine 99% pure. You can choose what you want it mixed with, either vg or pg but it doesn't say what percentage on my bottle.

There's a new photo on their site that says 100% pg though. Can someone please explain this to me. Sorry I was under the assumption that I was dealing with only 1% pg.

It's 100 mg nicotine per ml of total liquid, which is 10% nicotine. The rest, 90%, is PG in your case.

Nicotine is always in a carrier base, you can usually choose this from the vendor. Just check your order with them and it should say the PG/VG mix. So you'll put whatever this percentage in the first line of the calculator and 100 in the MG box. Then underneath that, you will put the 6mg as the target nicotine strength.

I suspect that you putting zero in the calculator that is causing the 106% error. If you could post up a quick screenshot of the calculator it will help too.

Once you have a few more posts (15 total I think) you'll also be able to hang out in the DIY forum.

What's the carrier base of your nic? I use PG nic base, some use VG. You are not using pure nic, 100 mg nic base is only 10% nic, in a vg or pg carrier. Don't know why you are having probs, should come out all right. What are the measurements ejuice giving you.

Should be something like

6 ml Nic juice

26 ml PG
60 ml VG
8 ml Flavoring

That is if you are mixing with a pg carrier nic base and 8% flavoring with pg base extract.

Ok so if I purchased a 100mg nic bottle with a pg base that means 90% is pg? This is what the calculator tells me. With using the percents you guys are telling me Im getting a total of 101%

Ingredient %

Nicotine juice 100 mg (90/0 PG/VG) 6
PG dilutant 20.6
VG dilutant 60
strawberry 14
Totals 101%

When I put 100%PG the calculator hits 100% so something about the 10mg and 90% pg isn't adding up. See thumbnails below

The base composition would be 100% pg for calculator purposes. The vg space will default to zero. It is asking for the ratio of pg/vg only at that point not the nic breakdown.. To the right of that you would put the mg level of 100mg. If you had bought 48mg you would put that in the mg space.

Okay thanks!!

So if I have been making sample mixtures at 106% would that effect my taste if all I'm doing is adding extra pg to the ratio? Or would it really not do anything?

And does mixing different pg brands effect taste or anything else? I'm sure the pg that vaping zone uses in their nic isn't what I use when adding for the 60/40 blend.

A 6% increase of PG in a juice would IMO hardly be noticeable. Your 14% flavoring ends up actually being about 13.2%. IMO you are unlikely to notice the difference.

I've used two different PGs and VGs and I didn't notice the difference when I switched. IMO, don't worry about it. Make sure what you buy says 'USP' grade on the sealed bottle.

Cool thanks so much! I'll make the adjustments for the next batch
