I have sent to Rob two Reo Grandes and two RM2's as they would drop off with the slightest touch so thought the best thing is to send them back and get them sorted not knowing if the Grande's or the RM2's were at fault. So got my good lady to send them, she works for an international company so they had all the gubbins to send it abroad ie tax forms filled out, franked international etc. etc.

I have been pestering Rob by IM if he had received them for weeks now but no (sorry for pestering).

Now I am without anything at all, wanted the new contacts, new 510's, bought brand new battery's and even got the Deoxit gold and nearly paid for another charger to spoil the newly refurbed Reo's.

So my question is if anyone has sent anything back to Rob, how long did it take for him to receive the item from the UK or any other European country?

I know that I have the option of buying two new Reo's which would be lovely but the loss of my two Grand friends guts me to be honest, they have been with me for a long time now and I have not smoked a nasty for over 6 years. I call the oldest Grand "Mum" and the newest Grand after my best friend "Gary" which both lost the fight with cancer which is a a reminder to me not to smoke the nasty stuff ever again.

So if anyone who has sent something back to the Grotto of Reo I would be interested in knowing how long it took? or am I just impatient and panicking too much.

Any advice appreciated.

Thank you.

I feel for you, especially since the reos in question have sentimental value to you.

While I haven't sent anything from farther than just the country attached to the US to the north, I can say that - despite some really wacky round trip stops (to countries nowhere near either mine or Rob's) - it's always been sorted in the end. I mean, I'm talking unscheduled stops in unplanned continents like Europe and Asia.

You should be able to track the package's whereabouts using both your own and the USPS (or UPS) tracking systems. Your own should show the package being scanned and transported out of the country and USPS/UPS should show it being scanned in locally. The same tracking number should work with both systems. While I've heard that only the US and Canada share information in this way, I have tracked my errant packages using Israeli, Japanese, and UK national systems.

Fingers crossed for you.

The weather they're having up there may also be a factor. My three mods, after leaving Robs shop have made it to Alfred Maine and then Scarborough but they have been languishing in the Scarborough post office since 2/6.

I've been unsuccessful reaching anyone in the Scarborough PO branch that can tell me anything :(.

Something I've learned from buying a lot of gear from Europe the last couple of years, and sending one mod back for update is that the only carrier worth squat in Europe is DHL Europe. Packages from door to door (whatever country in EU to mine in the western US) seldom take more than 3 or 4 days, including going through US Customs. The one I returned was picked up at my door by DHL USA, got one day service by the MFG in Greece and was delivered back to my door by DHL for a total of 7 days turnaround despite going through US Customs both ways. But as far as I know none of them had to get past the extreme weather our New England states are trying to deal with right now, and the thousands of airline flights that have been cancelled because of the weather.

Reminds me of a rifle I sent to a friend on Kodiak Island (AK) via FedEx once (that did not have to go through US Customs)... it took over 4 weeks because of severe weather and the fact that once a package gets to Anchorage it just sits until an independent contractor picks it up and takes it to Kodiak. So most of the near $100 shipping cost was for storage. ;)

That's exactly what's going on with my new purchase on the 8th.... My new lp/sl grand left Alfred and has been sitting in scarsborough since the 9th.... Its driving me nuts waiting for it to move via Usps...... says 2-day priority

Huh just edited this, I noticed others are being held hostage in Scarsborough?

Same here.... newest Reo from Rob was stalled in Scars for a couple of days. But I just checked tracking and that now shows it is in my city, so it will be delivered to me today. :thumb:

Mine got to Scars on the 9th as well, and at the same time yours did. And it was also scheduled for deliver on the 11th. Looks like yours is still stalled, maybe flight problems to your city because of weather cancellations, or maybe Chicago USPS has just not updated tracking yet if it is there now. Tracking now shows mine arrived in the Capitol of Sin at 10PM yesterday (11th), so it'll only be one day late with it getting delivered to me today.

The USPS sometimes lags behind updating tracking until a packages gets to my city, but not all that often. Hold ups are usually caused by the person shipping them, some of them with horrible customer service. They ship when they get around to it despite giving me a "shipped" notification. Can be days, a week or more before they actually turn the package over to a carrier... so I take my business elsewhere.

I currently have 8 more vape mail packages coming... from Hawaii, various CONUS states, the UK. The tracking on those that have actually shipped are working just fine... 5 of them will probably be delivered to me today.
