If you want to take additional unwarranted risks, be my guest. You are an adult. Its your risk.
People are currently dieing due to this outlook.
Truckers are going through what is being asked here.
The results:
More trucks with more safety bandaids.
Companies getting cookie points on their safety scores for using these bandaids despite how dangerous their drivers are and how many accidents they have per mile/truck/driver.
Companies that should be shut down for being dangerous on the road will be able to install "features" in their fleet and continue employing dangerous drivers and clueless rookie drivers.
Much translates from one to the other. Make it "safer" and what you get is a better idiot at the wheel.
Ninja, I and countless others aren't taking more risk by not idiot proofing our gear. We're taking LESS RISK by choosing not to be uneducated idiots.
Holes in the mods... anywhere... don't prevent thermal runaway and off gassing 2500 degree F gasses whether it be to your face... or if you drill holes... in your hand.
Knowledge does that.
Without knowledge and care... your risk of 3rd degree burns regardless of proper ventilation remains the same. Only difference is likely location.
But of course, there's always going to be those concerned individuals that would rather be doing 80mph legally down the highway, change lanes and suddenly have to drop to 55mph within a car length because of the truck that's speed limited thanks to their voicing their superior knowledge and concern for safety.
