I've bought a lot of stuff from China with free shipping and usually takes about a month to get to me. Way too long, but the price is right!! :)

Most of the time I go to my seasonal site where I have power. Other places I'm thinking I will probably just use my car to charge. Thinking of getting one of these if I go for a week though! Doesn't take much driving around to charge the car battery to spend 15 on one of these! Think its 2200mah? So, should charge an ego 650mah twice and one partial charge. If it does fully charge in 8 hour that would for sure be enough to get through a couple cloudy days! :D

Knotar, i cant find any tutorial vids for modding that solar mod you posted ........ can you (or anyone else) post them here or give us a link to the guys youtube channel please? Tasslehawk seems to be the originator for this idea and stevemontuno has done one too but neither of their mods is described in any great detail anywhere ... that I can find anyway. I'd love to try putting one of these together but I'd need a 'map' of "cut here ->, solder this <-, connect that ^" if you get my drift :)

The solar mobile charger finally showed up today and according to the manual it takes 8hrs to charge by AC and 18-20hrs to charge using the solar panel. I want to test out the solar charging first so in the mean time I'm reading the manual and enjoying some chinglish gems such as

"The solar mobile charger is the device of transferring the sun light power into electrical power"
"The stored power is then exported to mobile phones"

Well this review is going to be a short one. Don't buy this solar charger

Yesterday i took it out of the box and when I tilted the solar panel towards sun light a little green led would light up. I covered the solar panel with my hand and it went out. COOL! So even though it had been in a box for a month while it was shipped to me I grabbed some electronics and plugged them into the charger. The usb port on the charger was pretty loose but you could see it was the whole solar panel and electronics board that moved inside the case. I was hoping it was just a QC issue and that it would still charge devices. My Samsung galaxy worked, an ego charger with an ego twist worked and even my work blackberry worked (which rarely works with anything but the official charger). I'm pretty excited at this point so I set the charger on a window sill to get direct sun light today and was going to charge a 650mah ego twist tonight and time how long it took to charge.

I came home from work plugged the ego charger/battery into the solar charger and the green led flashed once and went out. The red light on the ego charger did the same thing. The solar charger is dead......lucky for me I plugged the ego charger into an AC plug and it is charging fine. Avoid this charger ......

And just in case anyone wants to see a pic

charger.jpg

The ego charger led isn't lit and on the bottom left corner of the solar charger there is a little led that also isn't lit. I'm glad I only spent $10 on this

(Obviously not built to Mil Spec!) Lol

Have you tried to charge it with A/C. I think that is an option isn't it?

Lol...no, no its not. You must be a mind reader....I plugged it into AC for the h3ll of it and it looks like its charging.

(sorry for the bad pic)

I may take it apart and see if there are any broken welds or loose wires to explain why its not charging through the solar panel. If not atleast a 2600mah portable charger wouldn't be a total loss.

Snip - at least a 2600mah portable charger wouldn't be a total loss.

That was my thinking, too.

Maybe the battery was too low to accept the solar charge? I'm just guessing at these things.

Maybe your Chinglish is not proportionate amount undertaking? Lol

Relax, Enjoy!
