arfnoon! newish to the forums so can only post this here (sorry!).

my current setup is a SVD2 with an iBTanked (bold black swirl! looks rather swanky). i use boge low resistance cartos and vape at a low voltage - the reason for this is warm/hot vapour disagrees with my asthma. working on saving for a smaller boxy setup also.

i fancy a bit of a change as well as the fact that boge cartos that i use tend to go out of stock quickly. tried the smoctec(sp?) thingies instead of boge and to me they have a metallic after taste.

- tried the pro tank 3 - dual coil. asthma says no. otherwise, a great tank.
- aspire(to leak more) nautilus - tried two work arounds for the leaking... its still leaking! put an extra O ring near the top of the atomiser and kept the airflow hole closed whilst refilling etc. just need to lick my trousers for my nicotine fix now.
- tried another dual coil (CE[something]) and my asthma again said no.

i have tried many flavours and mint is the only one i get along with flavour wise. the only thing that the natalist seems to be good for is flavour. so minty my eyes watered... loved it! until it leaked... again...

i have a limited budget and everything seems to be dual coil. looked at the kayfun and russian 91%... seem good but... too expensive at the moment.

i tried searching for single coil tanks and many variations of and all i get is articles telling me that single coil tanks have one coil and dual coil tanks have two.

is anyone able to recommend single coil tank before my carto reserves get vaped? i live in the UK if that helps with suggestions.

thank you for any assistance :)

edit: my atrocious spelling.

Is it just the warmth of the vape that doesn't agree with your asthma or does the amount of vapor also affect it?

What wattage are you vaping your Nautilus at? Many members report leaking when they are vaping at to low a wattage (less than ~8 watts).

Tagging @AndriaD as she may be able to help.

Like you, I have asthma, and I vape mostly with carto tanks. I also hate dual coils. I sometimes use first generation EVODS or the protank 1 with single coils (I think the protank 2 can use the single coils, also). I also use old vivi novas sometimes. I have not tried a lot of new stuff, since a lot of it seems to be dual coils or sub ohm stuff, and I don't want either.

How are you refilling your Nautilus such that your base, where the airflow hole is located, is attached to anything you're putting juice into? I have both a Nautilus standard, and a Mini, and while I prefer my RDA, I have never had a leak issue with either Nautilus.

I dunno anything about replaceable-coil tanks; all I know are rebuildables.

Kayfuns are great; you can get a kayfun lite plus pretty much anywhere these days for $15 or less. I recommend the Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus. I highly DON"T recommend FastTech, because even if they ship the very next day, there's still a whole world full of idiots the pkg has to get thru, before it gets to you.

For RDAs, the Achilles is outstanding; tight draw (as tight as a carto), good TH with lower power than most attys need, you can even lower the nic level, the TH is so great.

For me, PG is my friend -- VG makes me feel like I've got a hairball in my chest that I can't cough up, and when I once tried 65PG/35VG, I had such a bad asthma attack I almost couldn't even inhale from my rescue inhaler -- scary! Even 80/20 is too much VG for me; now I'm using 86PG/14VG, and it works very well.

I also had to add Advair to my medications, just using a rescue inhaler by itself was no longer working, once I quit smoking and started vaping.

I had asthma many years ago and I am still prone to it sometimes. I recommend the Protank or protanks 2 for eveyday vaping. If you really would like to sub ohm try the Arctic sub ohm tank.

All Kanger double coil clearos, your Kanger Protank 3 too, can be used with single coil heads. Have a look (only) at the pictures in this blog (as it is written in German), on this page single coil heads with double coil heads are compared so you can see that the only difference is height:

Kanger Verdampfer/Verdampferkopf-Kompatibilität | Besser Labern Ohne Grund

You can use a second silicon cap as shown in the photos, to compensate for the difference in height.

A slim clearo I like very much is Innokins Gladius (14 mm). This one also works with the simple single coils from Kanger ;-)) - I even use it without a second silicone cap.

And if your budget is limited, here is another one for Kanger's single coils - funnily, the cheapest but the best I ever had because it has a glass tank and no glue
anywhere, it can be completely disassembled for cleaning (but take care and don't loose the two silicone o-rings at both ends of the glass tank) - it is --> this one.
You can be sure that it works, I have had them for a long time.

If you break the glass tank, these replacement glass tubes fit.

PS
I don't have asthma but I am a tootle puffer, i.e. someone vaping as if they had asthma ;-)

PPS
Now I see you are from the UK, have a look at this clearo. Yes, it is the same one I recommended from China.

thank you all for the suggestions. some look good and will have a gander.

as regards the PG/VG... doesnt seem to matter. though i find a lot of mostly VG mixes feel like sandpaper (though from what i know it shouldnt... maybe its just me...) i tend to stick 80%+ PG.
not sure if it is the heat + vapour or whatever which makes my asthma bad, but it is only with dual coils. i have had quite a few single coils and never had an asthma issue with them. been vaping as strong a mint as i can find since i started vaping a couple of years ago. it is a combination of heat and humidity that kills me. cant do butterfly farms or summers over 75 when it rains.

think the leakalus has a manufacturing issue where one will leak no matter what is done. seems for every 20 good reviews or so one person has nothing but issues with it. i am reluctant to try my luck again on it.

will have a look at the suggestions and see if i can find a reputable UK/EU vendor - surprise tax on delivery is a pain in the .....

have all been most helpful :)

I've never been able to find the slightest thing good about dual coils; never thought it was an asthma thing, but I just don't like that much heat OR vapor -- too much heat burns my lips, too much vapor sends me into a coughing/asthma frenzy. And too much heat can really mess up the flavor of some juices.

I'll be a tootle puffer for life, considering the asthma. :D
