Can anyone tell me how many times you can refill your cartomizers?

Hi kjay. I'm vaping about 4 ml per day on SmokTech Mega Dual Coil 1.5 Cartos and am able to use them for about 2-3 weeks. I purchased, for about $2.00, the Oral Med Dispenser from Walmart.
Below is the vid detailing the use of the Oral Med D. Note the OP also uses a "rubber" toothpick to clear the airway. I use a long hatpin.

After cleaning the first fill is a little harsh but it works well. I plan on buying some PGA as I feel it would be less harsh on the coils than water. My last DC Carto I took apart after 3 weeks and there were no burn marks at all. I also use the Oral Med Dispenser Connector for the Taryn Spin after I fill my carto by the condom method. I actually ended buying 3 Oral Med Dispenser and also use them for mixing juice. Be sure to coat the printed numbers with clear nail polish otherwise they may be erased by the juice.
Here's a vid for the Taryn Spin:

Happy Vaping and glad to hear your date went so well, Vapoor.

There are a couple of factors that determine how long a carto will last for you. The main factor is what type of juice you are using. The darker ones will clog an atty faster than the lighter colored juices.

Another factor is the brand of cartomizer you buy. A generic, no name, carto will not hold up as long as say, Boge or SmokeTek.

I usually get about 3 weeks use from mine. Thats 20-25ml of juice by my estimate. That's using fairly clear juice. With dark juice such as RY4, maple-walnut, Maxboro, 555, etc, they last about 10 days before losing flavor and beginning to draw tight.

Since they only cost about $1.59 a piece, I have not tried cleaning one. I just toss it and start a new one. I have read many threads here on ECF that cleaning cartomizers just doesn't work very well. They are never the same as new after cleaning, don't draw right, don't absorb the juice very well, and take forever to dry completely. YMMV.

I Never had much luck cleaning them however.... Sometimes simply pulling up on the black wire you see near the top end a bit will help. Also keeping it always wet will extend its life significantly. Not overfilling as well. The 2 biggest reasons you loose a carto are from not keeping it wet and singing the pollyfill or constantly overfilling which can lead to a tight draw. In the rarer case that it just stops produceing vapor Thick and Dark juices are the culprit for gunking up the fireing coil.

The best method for me is to get a meat flavor injector (a big syringe) clamp a 1/2" x 3/8" vinyl tube on it and flush hot water back and forth through it, then push only air ,and let it dry(I use a food dehydrator) to speed up drying. I can get a extra life out of them. after cleaning them once they get tossed in the garbage after 2nd use . they start to degrade in performance after every cleaning.
hope this helps

PBusardo videos are worth watching, partly for learning something and partly just for entertainment value.

Only carto cleaning experience I have is from filling juice into a gas station e-cig's cart. I think I had two that didn't like it and crapped out on the get go. Otherwise I think I had 2 fail just after filling them out of about maybe 15. And that was on ones that were never meant to be refilled. So you should have better luck with ones made to be refilled.

The boiling method works well. Boil, rinse, boil, rinse, boil, rinse.... I shake mine like a thermometer rather than blow through them. Let em sit on a paper towel for a day or two to dry.

I know before I did it it seemed like a big deal. After you've cleaned out one batch you'll see how easy it is.

It depends on the brand and type of cartomizer. Polyfill cartos can only be cleaned a few times. CE2's can be cleaned and burned many times. I don't know how often because they last so long for me that I don't bother anymore. I vape about 100 ml a month and use less than 20 cartomizers a year. It does help to use clear juice.

I have cartos that I have been using for weeks I don't really clean them in any way already mentioned, I'll just blow them out or let them drain upsidedown for a day or two. Now the big cartos Mega size last so long I get tired of the juice and go to an attty for a change. Mixing did flavors is just a no no.

I use simple stuffing cartomizers. There is no "times". I never let a carto get dry enough to singe. I keep them damp and the amount of drops I add each time is whatever it needs. I can get 3 weeks use out of a Boge 3 ohm running about 1ml through per day. I get 2 weeks or more use out of a V4L or Bloog carto running about 1.5 ml through per day. I am vaping both and alternate vaping the 2 models. I figure it's about 20ml through each. I use near-perfect liquids, thin and clear, that leave no flavoring sediment.

I add juice anytime the vapor or flavor is off, anytime the carto is getting abnormally warm, before putting a fresh battery on, before leaving the house, and anytime I look at the stuffing and it's white on top.

Before I found perfect juices I got less use out of each. I was using 30% VG instead of the 10-20% I use now, and I used dark or cloudy juices that dropped a lot of sediment that turned the carto into a solid mass of pudding. Now I use juices that leave my stuffing as clean as new. But it's a balance each person has to find - you can vape the juices you want regardless of how long the carto lasts. But I like the drag to stay good so I moved toward juices that gave me that.

They're made to be disposable. If I get 5 days out of a carto, that's about 25 cents a day. You paid for the pv, you paid for the juice you like. Don't deprive yourself of a great vape with a funky old carto.

+1...a brand new, fresh carto is soooooo good(and cheap) it is of diminishing returns to clean them...I do clean them once(if not too stopped up) and keep them around for just in case........

Like others said, it depends on different things. I use the Ressurector cartos and get avg 2-4 weeks per carto. Always filling them correctly and not letting them get dry will help them last longer. I use a syringe to fill all my cartos, but sometimes I will drip in just to top it off. I always use a syringe though for the first fill bc that fill is very important. Dripping into an XL carto like the Ressurectors will take alot of juice and quite a while. And you risk potentially burning the wick if you don't let the juice settle enough. A syringe is def good to use for the first fill bc then you know your starting with a new carto that's filled right. I never clean my cartos and still get 2-4 weeks from one. You can clean them but you don't necessarily have to. I find some cartos dont work as well after a cleaning. They either won't wick right and/or won't hold as much juice. If you'd like though, try cleaning them, there was a few ways mentioned above, you might find it works for you. I just feel its not worth the hassle. I've had one carto last 6 and a half weeks and never cleaned it. I figure since a 5-pack of cartos lasts me over 2 month, for the under $8 price tag, I'm def getting my money's worth, even without cleaning them.

I have had no luck cleaning them and believe me I tried every method mentioned on various parts of this forum; but that doesn't mean you won't have better luck. 808 cartos last me a solid seven days on a light juice. Resurrectors last me about 5 days and regular 510 LR I am still evaluating. I agree with the thin light juices with a higher PG content being the way to go to get the most life out of a cartomizer. I tried a juice that was 50/50 and that barely lasted two days and it was all gunked up.

From the above It seems that VG itself gunks up cartos that use a filler. Has anyone else had this experience?
