If the carto is brand new it is already dry.
Leaving it in a tank shouldn't hurt it at all since they don't normally just dry out if there's liquid in them. Hope this answers your question?
Good luck on your vaping journey!

Un VAPED. You could dry it out if not getting much juice pulled through. Once you use it again, just drop a couple of drops on the atomizer, and it should be fine. You can also re-use the rubber "condom" cap of the atomizer to keep out the air...

thanks for the replay. is there a certain time limit you think when it drys up? i switch between tanks every other day or so

Un-vaped (and unsealed) it will dry out in 3-5 days, depending on the juice. In general, I tend to think it's not very good for a cart, tho. If you think about vaping a cart until its dry, it's quite different from it air drying. Why? Well, when you vape, the liquid gets "wicked" from the fill (out of the fill) toward the atomizer. But when it air dries, it basically dries where it sits in the fill. While it won't hurt the atomizer, I suspect it would diminish the ability of the fill to hold new liquid somewhat, especially if repeated. But if you switch every other day, you should be fine, IMHO.
