I've been DIYing for a few months now and came across a new vendor for VG/PG that is a lot less money than where I was getting it. I have heard that switching brands can change a flavor though. Is this true? Also, can changing the nicotine change a flavor?

As far as PG/VG, I've read of others noticing differences between brands. It's best to compare the old and new side by side by vaping them alone with no flavoring or NIC added and judging for yourself.

As far as NIC, Different brands do taste different so the answer on that is yes.

to ecf Steph G. Glad you are here. I have really notices a difference in the pg/vg when I played around with the percentages. It seems like with a higher vg, my juice seems sweeter tasting. I normally purchase by the gallon from Essential Depot. http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-218/1-Gallon-Veg-Glycerin/Detail

Please let me where you are talking about because I am always interested in saving money.

Happy vaping and mixing.

Yes, although how much it changes and how much difference that makes may vary. Some people have strong preferences for certain brands of nic, others get whatever is on sale and are happy with it. And some flavors will be more impacted than others.

I found this place Essential Oils, Soap Making Supplies & More | Bulk Apothecary, the most inexpensive I've seen. Others I know use them, but I have been told so many different things by different people. I prefer a 50/50 mix, but am experimenting with 60VG/40PG on my new Trident clone and it seems a whole lot smoother to me with only a 10% difference.

What I was originally wondering though is if the new companies products will make my recipes taste that astoundingly different or not....

I will check out essential depot as well, thanks so much for the response!

You should make sure that wherever you get your PG and/or VG, that it is USP grade. This thread contains some essential info:
