Hi!
Can I add VG Nic to purchased flavored 0mg liquid?

I couldn't resist the 40% off sale at Gourmet Vapor so I bought 500 ml of 48mg VG Nic liquid. I don't think I would be a successful DIY'er so was wondering if I just bought the flavored stuff, maybe triple flavor strength I could add some of my stuff???

I got it in case the FDA gets uppity again....

Or should I just cave and try doing my own.
Thanks!

It really depends on what your final target strength is, and how strong your original juice is.

If you start with 0 mg juice, then five parts juice + 1 part 48mg will yield 8 mg final.

If your initial 0mg juice is fairly strongly flavored it would probably take that cutting ok.

On the other hand, if you're trying for 24 mg final strength, then it would be one part juice to one part 48mg, a full 50% cut. Most premade juices would unlikely take that much of a cut without a really bad flavor loss.

You could.

Here's the thing, flavorings tend to work in certain ranges. I've seen, it's rare, for a single percent more flavoring double the tasted flavor. Usually it falls closer to the add 5-10% range for the flavoring to double the tasted flavor. So the question is, is the juice double the amount of flavoring, or double the flavor?

Next thing is the target nic level means everything with 48mg base. If you are shooting for 24mg, then your flavored juice is only half of the mix and very unlikely to have the taste you'd expect. If your target is much lower, then it may be a very viable option.

The above is purely opinion based on a singular experience. Your best bet is to just try what you want in a small batch and see what it tastes like. Since I've never tried mod'ing premixed like you intend, you'd know better than I after the first batch.

Hoosier - This is interesting. By any chance would TPA Double Chocolate fall into this "rare" category that you have found? The reason I ask is that I'm finding out that I need to drop the % of this flavor WAY down from what others recommend because it's way to strong to me. I thought maybe it was just me and my taste buds but the wife says the same thing when I make anything up with this flavoring?

Jupiter - I'm no expert by any means but I feel the need to try and contribute when I can because all these folks around here have been so very helpful to me. The only thing I can add to what has already been suggested is that fact that you're Nic base is VG based and VG is known as a flavor killer compared to PG. So if you can get triple flavor juice, that would be my best guess. Good luck and let us know how it works out for ya.

Not so far. I have just started experimenting with Dbl Choc. I've tried two different mixes that have varied the Dbl Choc by 5% and it still works. Granted, neither mix is exactly what I am going for, but it seems to fall in the typical range.

The rare ones that I know of are just a few of FA's tobacco flavors. Hit the right % and they are amazing. Too low or too high and they are less than whelming. (Burley is one of them. Great as a "spice" to fill out other flavors.)
