^This is a good point, I had liquid in both of my clearo's, both leaked a couple drops into the mouthpiece. I flew into Philadelphia through Detroit from Grand Rapids Last week Wednesday. I was super nervous going through security, had my ego in the box I bought it in with the clearos attached and 2 18mL bottles of liquid in a separate baggy that I laid out in the tub with my shoes and stuff. Lady asked if that was it, told her yes and went the rest of the way through security without and issue, officers never even batted an eye at me after that. I'll see what the people at PHL do next week Monday when I go to fly back.

You shouldn't have any problem going through PHL. About a week and a half ago I flew from PHL to Minnesota and had no problem going through security.

Like someone said, large airports have probably seen all this many times.

Good to hear they don't raise too much of an issue. I guess the main thing is to be careful with the amount of juice brought on?
I'll be flying up to San Francisco in a few weeks and was wondering this myself. Just gonna take my twist & ego though. So do you guys really suggest not putting liquid in my tanks due to pressure? What if they are filled just half way?

I had 2 18 ml bottles of fluid without a problem on my carry on. What leaked was my clearomizers, which were not full but probably filled about 75%. When I fly on Monday I'm just taking a couple cartos instead and have my clearos empty.

Well I flew out to NY from Columbus ohio and back. I was able to carry my SS vtube, and 2 Tgos batteries with accesories( Dct tank, bag of cartomizers and batteries) along with me on my cArry on. I also brought 1 5ml bottle of ejuice without any problems. It went thru the X-ray and I wasnt even asked to open my carryon. I did put the other 6 ejuice bottles in my check in. So if I can get thru NY laguardia airport with my detonator looking device(vtube) without any problems u guys shouldn't have to worry at all. Just thought I'd let u guys know..

The air is what expands and contracts, so you'd be better off having them full. Best to have them empty and open and put the one you are using in a plastic bag to catch the juice that leaks.

Can I smoke EC on plane?

If you go in the bathroom you are pretty safe. Lift the sink drain a tiny bit with something (paper towel folded edge) and it will suction out any vapor. Don't blow vapor right into the smoke detector and more PG than VG will make less vapor.

Late night or empty flight you could vape at your seat exhaling into a cup of coffee or a soda cup straw. Any vapor will be attributed to the beverage temperature.

Nicorette gum or snus work too.

As a side note I want to add make sure you don't have anything like a candy bar next to it in the bag. A few months ago one of the members here posted they had their bag searched not because of the e-cig, but because they had a candy bar next to it which showed up as organic material next to the battery of their e-cig, the combo did have security checking.

First we called the airline, then we put our stuff in clear bags as well as the business card of our local vaping store. There IS a liquid limit per bottle so you might need to check that.

I think that's a smart thing to do. Airlines have different rules. I'm glad that this topic was brought out in this forum. Great input, guys. I wonder if security will be the same for international flights. I've read in this forum that Singapore bans e-ecig and that's something to note about. Hope that's just one exception. Happy vaping :p

Yes...no problem. Please bring any and all batteries with you in your carry on. Batteries are a safety hazard, and have to be where you can attend to them if something bad happens.

Batteries are NOT a safety hazard unless they are exposed to water or metal that can connect both poles of the battery, or fire which can cause the guts catch on fire and go into thermal runaway. In any case, the only time they really ever vent is while charging. Please don't scare people with false claims. Never overcharge them (most charge in 2-3 hours), never charge them in a high temperature environment and don't physically damage them and you're good to go.(Basic to Advanced Battery Information from Battery University)

To the OP:
If you take it on the plane you can bust it out and use it in the bathroom to stealth vape by blowing it out in toilet paper. Take more (especially clearomizers and juice) than you think you need. If you have a failure on your trip you will quickly find that it is better to have and not need than to need and not have.

If you vape in your seat on a plane with other passengers around, you are an idiot. I don't care how stealthy you are, your behaviour may look suspicious to other passengers, and in the current climate you risk a major incident.

Look at what happened when someone tried to stealth vape on a coach in the UK recently, and consider how much worse it will be if one of your fellow passengers on a plane takes fright at what you're doing: BBC News - Fake cigarette caused M6 police Megabus coach swoop
