Can I make a coil out of old guitar strings?

Nope. Or at least I wouldn't do it. It's an unknown material. If you feel comfortable with it, make sure you check the resistance first.

If it's an acoustic, could be intestinal material . As far as i know, most guitar strings are steel, stainless steel or steel with nickel plating. A pretty unknown quantity.

Stainless steel or nickel would require tc. I use coated (polymer I think) bronze on accoustics and nickel coated steel on electrics.

And old strings are gross. Sweat and slime from hands.

Phosphor/bronze for the acoustics, nickel/steel for the electrics. I wouldn't wind a vape coil with either one.
Classical strings can be nylon or any number of things including animal intestines. Cat-gut yer tounge?

Exactly why I bought ANOTHER 50ft spool of 29ga kanthal, though I haven't used even half of the first spool.

Usually intestinal tract strings are used for bowed instruments. Something to do with the texture and whatever. As philoshop said most acoustics are phosphor bronze strings. Unless you play classical.
