Can I mangle an eGo atomizer to turn it into a standard cone for 510 attys?

Have an eGo atomizer that's starting to underperform. I've become partial to smoktech dual-coil 510 clearomizers anyway, but the standard cones don't fit over them. I looking at buying a ego cone and filing the end a bit to make it fit the clearo, but could I just pull the internals out of the eGo atty and end up with the same thing?

I had a cone but lost it b/c I never used it with standard 510 (metal) cartos. Have learned the hard way that the clearomizers are more fragile, breaking in my pocket. Don't want to futz with replacing the PVC, a cone would be fine.

No, the eGo atomizer threads into the battery connector, the eGo cone threads onto the outer threads.

These will fit on an eGo battery and the site says the cones will accommodate even clear dual coils.

Actually that sounds perfect, and they have empty bottles, too which I need. No need for sanding/mangling, hopefully. Thanks!

Well, you can turn a eGo-t atomizer into a eGo cone if you want to.
Unfortunately you need a eGo cone to build one from a T atomizer.

I had a eGo cone that was a bit mangled so heated the bottom of the cone for a short time on stove burner and then popped the threaded insert out with a screwdriver.

Heated the bottom of the T atomizer and used a socket small enough to fit into the top of the atomizer, gave a quick whack and then slid the T innards out.

Super glued the threaded insert from the mangled eGo cone into the T atomizer shell and voila, longer eGo-t cone with a larger opening.

Careful while heating as this will discolor the paint/coating. A bit of fine sanding and makes a lovely Stainless Steel cone though.

I did precisely the same thing with my ego-T batteries. I just took a Dremel and used the sanding tool to grind the end of the cone down just a little at a time until the Clearomizer went through. I outfitted all of my Ego Batteries with the Ego Cones and filed each and every one of them down nice and even to take the 510 Dual Coil Clearomizers from Smoktech.

You know, if you want to be sure I think if you called Brent @ hoosier e-cig supply he'd measure one of the cones for you.

My standard Ego cones measure .378 ID at the small end.....on the average. So you know they'll need to be larger than that.

Just guessing, but at least .388 to .393.
