Can I put a battery in the oven?

I know you're thinking "WTF?" but hear me out...

I want to make my own decorative lanyard with polymer clay. I have a dead auto battery that I can use to mold/shape the clay, but it needs to cure in the oven while on the battery at 275 degrees for about 20 minutes. Is there any danger of me blowing something up if I do that?

Since it's dead...
I would pop the ash cap.. grab the battery guts and get the battery pack out of it.( I use needle nose plier's and pull, they slide out the bottom pretty easy) You can then pop the ash cap back on for the shape.
No worry of something going wrong and then you can use it without worry for future projects.
