When I first started vaping, the life expectancy of an atomizer was a HUGE concern to me. I was afraid of a ban and having difficulty getting more atomizers, so it only made sense to pray for the long and healthy lives of my atomizers. :)

It didn't take long, though, before I developed a more philosophical approach. I buy them in bulk for $5 or less each, and so long as I can continue to get them, even if I blow through an atomizer a week, I'm still paying far, far less than my former analog habit of 2+ packs a day. I have a nice stockpile, and I feel confident that I will be able to continue to get atomizers for the foreseeable future.

Accordingly, I treat them basically as disposable. If an atomizer lasts a week, I'm happy. If it lasts two weeks, I'm really happy. If it lasts a month, I'm doing the happy dance. :)

I've had a few that have died within a day and some that have lasted a few months, but vaping at high voltage, I'd say the average for me is about two weeks.

I can live with that.

So I just had to share this. I must be blessed with Thor's own atomizer. I've been using it for over two months. I clean it maybe a couple times a week. I got two in my kit, and I gave one away, so it's been my only atomizer for a couple weeks, and before I gave it away I almost never used the other so it would be a fresh spare. So this week I was heating a glass of water in the microwave to do a wash in. Took it out and realized the atomizer was in the glass already. 40 seconds on high, and the thing still works just fine.

So, no they don't last forever, but they can last a long time if you get lucky it would seem. And they're cheap enough to replace anyway :)

Yes. I don't have it right in front of me. I will post the exact name tomorrow evening when I get back home. It is a solution used to clean commercial ice machines. Safe if ingested and cleans my 510's very nicely.

I must have a godly atty. Or I must have a god's touch. Nothing short of that. (Unless my atty's magic? =O) Mine has lasted 2 months, constant use, only blown out 3 or 4 times and only rinsed once. Flavor/vapor/consistency have not been affected at all yet.

Watch, now that I'm posting it, the ECF gods will smite my atty and it will die tomorrow.

Ok thanks kent ! Ive been using the Crest or Cola method to clean my attys....i might just have to try this.

Thanks so much

Certainly. I haven't tried that one but I recall the thread - quite long and Elendil may have grabbed another product or found another so it will be interesting to see what he's using.

As many answers to this question there are, it all comes down to a simple analogy.

Atomizers are like condoms. You can't reuse them forever and eventually they will break.

The big difference is you can boil an atomizer. :D

Really? I don't think you'd want to reuse the condom more than once... or put a used one anywhere near your mouth. (Well, I can't speak for everyone...)

Yup umop...you jinxed it right there...so sorry

Or.. did I jinx the failure by calling it out? (I hope that's the case:evil:)
