Dunno I am wondering if water would cause problems due to conductivity although distilled water does not really conduct much.
Then you may get some sort of corrosion in the atomiser, I suppose the worse that can happen is you lose the atomiser?
Yes. As for proportions though, that will vary depending on how thick your VG is and how much flavoring you use (which thins the liquid). Distilled water is only necessary if you want/need to thin the liquid even further after adding your flavoring and even then, some use PGA (pure grain alcohol) instead.
How much flavoring depends on how strong the flavoring is and personal preferences. I think most people use 10-20% flavorings.
