Can I charge any lithium AA/AAA in any charger designed for lithium batteries?

Only if the charger is specifically designed to do so. Read your owners manual for each charger. If no mention of the smaller batteries is made, then they are not designed for use with rechargable AA/AAA batteries.

I have a sneaking suspicion, Trying to recharge single use lithium cells is a really, really bad idea.

There are several Lithium rechargeable batteries in AA/AAA size. they are better for cameras as they are 1.5v instead of the Nicad 1.2v

Be very careful in choosing a charger for AA, AAA batteries. Some are Lithium and others are NiMh or NiCad. There's a huge difference in charging requirements.

The chargers for Lithium rechargeable are specialty chargers designed for lithium AA batteries. If it's not meant to charge them they will overheat because the charger doesn't recognize them properly.
