Just wondering if it's a bad idea to submerge the parts in water ? I would let them fully dry out, of course before using it again

It will be fine to wash, infact its always best to wash new atomizers to clean of any oils left in the milling process. Just make sure youdry everything before using.

Yes, and it's to be encouraged. Tank hygiene leads to better flavor.:)

Just remember which o ring goes back where and to lubricate the ones on the bottom that require that (forgot which ones, been a while since I messed with KF5)

Edit: What Marc said;)

Thanks! So I need to disassemble it down to the o-rings? I wasn't planning on messing with those even though I have replacements, I'm afraid I won't be able to get them back on!

No, you don't have to at all. But sometimes I find o rings coming off during washing and then realizing I forgot where they're supposed to go.

And the KF has all sorts of little fiddly o rings in odd places, although I believe the KF4 was even more complicated.

I usually rinse the tank under running water when refilling. When I recoil or rewick I do the same with the base. Once every blue moon I dissasemble it, rinse it properly and moisten the o-rings.

Do you have a hard time getting the O rings back on?

Don't assume your capture screws are SS, remove & be sure posts are thoroughly dry before reassembly.
O-Rings are just Royalty class rubberbands..

OK. Theoretically:
If not every part is made of the same metal (for example SS316) then some corrosion can occur.
From the other side if every part is made of SS (even of different grade) then corrosion should be minimal.
I wash my tanks. I am courageous enough to take these risks.

Had it happen on my kfun lite plus clone.

Going to fasttech i noticed the disclaimer
'stainless steel, miscellaneous small parts may be comprised of other materials.'

And as i wipe a tear thinking about it, i wish you a wonderful Christmas..

Hmm...interesting. You have yourself a wonderful Xmas too!!! [emoji320][emoji319]

When I change the wick I rinse under hot water. I shake excess water off and then let the four main parts dry for a day or two. I have a bunch of toppers so I generally don't need to reassemble that quickly.

For the o-rings, I only take them off at purchase when I do the initial clean. A fine set of tweezers or very small screwdriver is how I remove the o-rings. I also use thick reading glasses. I have damaged an o-ring or two. I also have a cheap 10x jeweler's headset.

Help! I took the bottom apart and don't think I put it back together correctly. The screw is not supposed to stick out , is it?

The screw sticks out so that it makes contact in the 510 hole on the mod. I usually don't adjust them if I do have to. Yours looks okay. You didn't turn it??? Technically, the screw is adjustable, but generally not needing it. Does your mod detect the ohms of your K5?

I didn't pay enough attention so I didn't notice if the screw was supposed to be flush or indented, so thank you!
I was just disassembling it as much as I could, kind of playing with it and I think I took off too many parts?
