While I'm at it, can this piece be submerged?

Good point. A little screw down the drain can kill a perfect evening.avoid areas that have drains ( sinks for example)....![]()
A mesh screened strainer works great for washing RTAs/RTBs. If you don't have one a coffee basket with a filter in it will do just fine to help keep from losing parts down the drain.
When I change the wick I rinse under hot water. I shake excess water off and then let the four main parts dry for a day or two. I have a bunch of toppers so I generally don't need to reassemble that quickly.
For the o-rings, I only take them off at purchase when I do the initial clean. A fine set of tweezers or very small screwdriver is how I remove the o-rings. I also use thick reading glasses. I have damaged an o-ring or two. I also have a cheap 10x jeweler's headset.
Take the adjustable air flow off. Look for the single dot On the screw on 510 and line it up with the single hole of the piece in your hand.
1 Screw the plate on. Take notice to your 510 screw depth at this point it is far as it can go in. Usually where most want it.
2.Twist the tank assembly on holding the plate with the dots on it. (yes the air flow ring is still on the table)
3. Back the tank out a little over 2 complete turns like your adjusting you juice control.
4. Take the plate off and put the air flow ring on. Twist it where the single hole lines up with the air intake holes on the ring. Or as close you can tell. As i recall it was hard to see. Make sure the ring is in the clicked up position as if you were going to adjust air flow.
5. Line up the single dot again with the air hole slots and move the 510 plate around until it sits up in the alignment square . Now put the screw in the 510 and tighten it up.
6. Try out your air adjustments see if the dots are actually correct for the air hole. If not pull the 510 plate off and try alignment again or just guess one alignment point back or forward in the square insert piece and try again.
Thats the best I can explain it![]()
Everything can be submerged my schedule of cleaning my gear is this
- Everything I buy gets cleaned before I use it, even excellent quality high end authentics
- When I pulse/clean the coils the deck gets a good rinse also
- On a weekly basis or between flavors I will give it a simple break down (top cap, deck tank) and a good rinse, sometimes with dish soap.
- Monthly basis a deep clean, break down my gear all the way (leave the o-rings on, no need to remove) down and it spends 5 min's in the Ultrasonic.
We're vaporizing food, so I advocate treating your Vape gear almost as you would what you cook and eat with.
Ultrasonic's IMO are an excellent investment, you can pick up one fairly cheap off Amazon for around $25. Use hot water and a decent non toxic cleaner. I used to use a hypoallergenic dish soap which worked pretty decent, I now use a non toxic jewlery cleaner since I upgraded my Ultrasonic.
Only if they break or need replacingSo you never remove the o rings?

Hmm...maybe I don't truly have vapors tongue, but dirty tanks!
You washed it when you first received it, right?![]()
You'll know when it is time to replace the o-rings. I disassemble the tank and rinse all parts under warm water when I rewick before dry burning.
This worked great and about 2 months in with 2 V5's I rotate daily they both started leaking out of the AFC ring on the base. Re-ring both and it stopped as quick as it started.
This is a great atty and will last forever if cared for, enjoy!
Vape on...
Any toppers and any parts of any toppers that cannot be exposed to water, I'd replace.Just wondering if it's a bad idea to submerge the parts in water ? I would let them fully dry out, of course before using it again
