Is there a way to eliminate some of the threads that show up in my Whats New- my posts" section? Some that show up I really don't care to follow. I only clicked on them once to see what they were about and now I get notices everyday when someone posts in them. I would like to delete these from my posts that are being watched. Thanks!

Go into your profile and see if you can unsubscribe to threads.

I'm not subscribed to anything and don't get any notices regarding threads that I looked at or posted in (unless one of my posts gets liked).

If you mean that you get email notices??- At the bottom of each email is an unsubscribe link.

not all is lost, dee!
it seems some threads drop off on their own if you don't post in them. with some i appreciate that, with others not that much.

for example - i had stopped by the reo lounge thread to congratulate somebody and for quite some time that thread was on the top of 'my posts' list. there's a bunch of great people over there but i'm not a reo user and i was wondering if there was a way to eliminate that thread from 'my posts'

I wouldn't mind as much if they were posts I had posted in as opposed to just popping in to see what the fuss was about. Like "Deals and Steals", I don't remember ever posting in that one, yet there it is at the top of my list, every night, from now until forever..

No, no... not forever, luckily!

Dee, Tib is correct. I had a few threads like that; I just posted once but had no interest in continuing--drove me nuts. They disappear from "My Posts" after ~3 months or so if you don't post in them.

Oh crud! So I did, lol. Can we tweak the code to recognize the posts we return to most often and put those at the top of the list?

Tib, in your case it may have a lot more to do with your volume of posts in different threads. I know i have a few floaters but if I ignore them long enough they get buried eventually.

sarge, don't think that's it! the list of 'my posts' has dropped to 42, down from a high of 65. i know i lose some when the sandbox threads get deleted but here is the mystery:
i posted in the reo lounge when mx... turned vet, that thread has gone from 'my posts and you know what kind of volume that generates! same with whiskey's bwb thread which also has dropped off! i'm not complaining, mind you
but occasionally i lose a pif thread and are forced to bump that thread to make it show up again - and you know how lox is with any post not relevant
there is something going on but i can't make no rhyme or reason out of it, and katya seems to have seen it happen too.

My guess is that is has to do with the Default Thread Age Cutoff Setting. When your last post in a thread reaches that age, it no longer appears in the My Posts search. I don't know what the forum default time/age is for confirmation though. You can easily adjust it in your settings and see if some disappear or reappear.

But in the end... if I don't post for a stretch in a given thread, it falls out of My Posts. Just have to wait it out...


ETA: Wrote a little verse about this a couple months ago - if you don't mind venturing OUTSIDE!

but something is definitely going on. just had a fellow comment in pre-vets that he used to have a couple of pages for his 'my posts' and is now down to 24 threads .....

and the burning carto thread is over one year old but, thank goodness, it has not dropped off for me .....
btw i adjusted my settings too with no change .....

The Burning Thread is what fell off my My Posts search. Luckily Quick1 sampled some CE2's and gave me an excuse to post in it again (it had been a very long time reading w/out posting) to "bring it back"...
