So, I changed the coil on my Kanger P2 today. Let me start by saying I am 99% sure the coils I bought from the B&M store in town are fakes. I bought them because this was the only option I had to keep vaping until my order comes (which I hope are genuine Kanger coils). Everything this store sells is fake, but this is another story.
I put the beauty ring on my twist battery (as I have been doing) and then the tank, go to hit and the light on my bat starts blinking. The battery is definitely charged all the way. I take the beauty ring off and then it works. Try it 3 more times with ring off and on... still blinking when ring is on. GRRRR
MY QUESTION... Can knock off coils cause this issue?

i would guess that the coil is not making good contact with the beauty ring in place although it does seem odd that would happen. did you buy more than one? did you try another? you may want to look into rebuilding the coils yourself. it is very easy and only cost pennies per coil. i use kanthal A1 32 guage wire and organic cotton. search youtube for protank coil rebuild for some great videos on how its done. good luck!!!

yeah, I have been thinking about trying to rebuild. That is a whole nother level I may as well delve into. My bf already thinks I mess around with this all too much. May as well go THERE!

I bought a 5 pack of kanger coils last week and the first one I tried did not work. Guessing it was just a bad one out of the pack. Tried on multiple devices with no luck, put in another one and it worked great.

I hear you about the duds, was hoping this wouldn't be the case since I paid $3 for the one coil to begin with! desperation makes you do stupid things, and literally pay for it :(

Even "genuine" kanger coils can be hit-or-miss.....
I've had several DOA from different lots....and they tend to ohm out a bit on the high side....ie., 1.8 ohm coils are closer to 2.0-2.1....!!
As Smo suggested....winding your own coils is inexpensive and not very difficult (once you've done a few....!;))....A magnifying lens lamp or glasses is a definite PLUS working with small gauge wire.....Good luck!!
Happy (vaping) Trails!
