I was filling a mega cartomizer and some liquid got into the ego battery. A very little bit. Like half a drop. It works fine .. but could this have done something bad to the battery?

If it's an automatic, it can fry the battery, yeah... that's why I only use manuals. Automatics have a hole to allow airflow (so the sensor knows when to activate the battery as you draw on it). Downside is, it can allow an overfilled cart or an over-zealous dripper to get liquid into the battery.
If yours are manual, no probs. If automatic... hey, it's still working! Just be more careful next time

I'm assuming it's a manual (with a button)? Most eGo's are.
If so, no. Manual batteries have a sealed connector. It'll be just fine.
Over time, though, juice can gum up your connector and decrease performances and slow down (or stop) charging. This can be resolved by soaking or scrubbing the threads with a bit of alcohol. This is perfectly safe to do for manuals, but not for automatics (since the connector isn't sealed).

Are you guys sure ? I too use the eGo with mega carto...juice does get into the button. I have had 3 start going on and off on their own and die after having a "juice run" into the button. I don't believe it is sealed. I have also felt little tinglys through the button (through liquid) and this is one of my low lighting clues that I have had a "juice run".
Hi MistressNomad, in your experience are you talking about months or a few weeks? I'm now wondering if my original Joye 510 batteries might actually work, the ones that I wrote off to being factory defects and are sitting in the back of my desk drawer (vaping museum).
The button is not totally sealed, that is correct. The battery "connector" where the atty screws into is.
I have 3 manual egos and 3 automatic. What is working for me is I always put a newly filled cartomizer on my manuals and then after a bit I will put it on my auto batteries. This seems to help keep juice out of the hole on the auto. When I clean the battery, I take a q tip with rubbing alcohol, roll the q tip on a paper towel so it is not too wet and clean all my threads and inside, then I wipe it all with a paper towel. I do this each time a charge. I am pretty new so don't know how well this will work long term but works well so far.
Correct... e-liquid can certainly get into the eGo/Tornado via the button hole. Enough gets in there and the unit can/will malfunction.
Units with "loose fitting" buttons like the eGo/Tornado and MaxX/T-Rex are more susceptible to this.. while units with "tighter" fitting buttons like the Riva are a bit more tolerant.
just wanted to post because i am curious about this too. im new to dripping and last night the juice overflowed through the bottom and dripped down the battery... and the battery went out (although i had been using the battery all day anyway don't know if it's related or not) it overflowed and may or may not have leaked into the button hole, but i tried to clean it up as fast as possible.
like they all said, the end where it screws on to the atty or carto seems sealed, but i think the button may be sensitive. i will try the batt out today hopefully it will survive. update: looks like my batt is fine guess i didn't get too much in there...

Using the cone on your eGo will act like a ...., catching the excess liquid. Of course when using the mega attys, all bets are off.
