you'll pay double if not triple.

Double if not triple of what?

I registered on the site and joined the forums. Also learned, as you said, signups are closed until "late summer 2013". I also did a little google searching and haven't been able to find any kind of price info.

Hello all~

I really want a Caravela now...but... the website does not work at all...

My questions,

How/where do I order? The list is closed , will open in Aug for a limited number , first come first served

Price for just 18350 caravela approx 220 euros depending on spec

Price for Vela Latina(driptank) approx 140 euros

Thank you

your best chance of getting on the list is to keep an eye on the Caravela forum and wait for the list to open , how many spaces available will be determined by how many people have dropped out/ not paid ....which won't be many

They'll be taking preorders again late july. I'm sure the list will fill up immediately. The classys is your only option right now and you'll pay double if not triple.

Hate to say it but double or triple would be a steal right now, if you are in to overpaying that is.

Seen a few lately outside of here that have gone for over 1000.00......

Yeah the industry is becoming absolutely ridiculous in this regard these days. No offense OP, but as of right now you have almost a 0% chance of getting a Caravela. Not trying to be a jerk, just being honest. There are thousands of people out there right now that would trade an arm and a leg for one who have been searching for months to no avail. I like them and they're nice devices and all, but it's absolutely ridiculous. I can't even be bothered even trying to get one, it's not worth my time or money.

It's getting to the point of being a bit ridiculous for what amounts to a fancy battery tube. I understand that they're well-built and the demand is very high, but $1800 for a metal tube? It's like Pokemon cards or Beanie Babies at this point.

And like Beanie Babies ... many of these mods won't be worth what they paid for them in 5 years or so. I mean, e-cigs are very much in their infancy/toddler years. Who knows what technologies we'll have in 5 years that will make our current mods seem outdated. Not to mention as the industry expands, similar devices will be easily obtainable at a lower price.

Eventually a company will come around that can meet the high demand without sacrificing quality and innovation ... it happens in EVERY industry. When that happens, the current market will deflate dramatically.

Guess the Modder is not happy with the situation either. From his forum....

"We are in no way want to limit owner's right to dispose (sale) of Caravela mods, but we reserve the right to limit / deny / discontinue providing any services to some people at our discretion in the future".

tc1, I would like to think the same thing RE: mass produced high end mod... But that will not solve the issue. You can already get your hands on some really good stuff. This is all about collectors, rarity, and people wanting what they see as something they can't have.

Though I agree they are not worth that neither are most luxury goods. This is the first vaping item to attain this status. I am an admitted fanboy and own more than one Caravela. I would never sell a Caravela. However to say its ridiculous lets examine automobiles, is a Lambo worth $500k, a Rolex $20k, a plastic Mont Blanc $1k? The answer no to many and absolutely to some.

BTW to answer OP's question, my Vela Latina bill last month was 245 euro or $300ish from Pedro direct, they are pricey new and more than $220 someone referred to. A new 3 tube Caravela I have that just shipped to North America is 371 euro or $443 new from factory. They are expensive new and more expensive second hand.

even with disposable income like that i wouldnt overspend like that, ridiculous
just wait til the list re-opens and get one then for retail.

just think, caravela was 130 euro when it first came out...

Problem is the new list will be very small, it is for Caravelas that people who were already on the list for backed out of or didn't pay for when the bill came due. Not many folks walk away from something they have been waiting months for when they know if need be they can instantly double or triple their money.

Lame. The price jacking, on just a simple mech mod.. makes me sick. The vela will not give you inches on your johnson. People make it seem so majestic...
If your willing to pay 1800 on a mod, you should have your brain examined. Just does not make any sense, and I can usually justify the most stupidest purchases, but the vela's and ihybrids are just getting stupid. I have banned such devices in my world and will NOT put forth more stupidity in the mech hype/demand for arm and leg.
I wish people can join the movement and stop making these little companies think they are apple..

$300 should be the absolute most one should spend on a " limited " mod..
LOL... Now ask yourself, did I just buy a vape mod, or a motorcycle?
